What will the day be if opposition takes over Singapore?

Just wondering if PAP lost the GE and opposition won the battle, will we be living any better than before? Will it be good or worse? Post yr comments here.

but that will not last, after that we'll have a new regime and lifestyle in politics. more involvement for certain since we know now, we as citizens can make changes in our society.
it is the first part that we are taught to fear and shy away. -

policies may or may not differ from the current regime. this is what i imagine..
if worker's party wins, than i think there would be more funds allocated towards welfare for citizens for a time being, and lesser towards GLC and military expenses but freedom of speech may not improve.
if SDP wins, politics would be incorporated into our education system and people will become more involved in politics. policies will be suayed by popular demands and that would mean more funds allocated towards welfare as well. but their involvement and reliance in foreign interest may mess things up.
so many possibilities, but we just lack the courage to change. -

We were all pre-conditioned right from the very beginnings, to NEVER question the current leader/s. But when CHANGE finally comes around, it will likely mean lots of re-building, and depending on HOW the change was brought about, it may or may not involve re-building our economy.
There will be a period of instability, but things will settle down and we will have ourselves, a more People-centered government.
We will certainly carry on where we left off, and make it without the PAP hasve so confidently claimed.
I really resent the statement by LKY: "It doesn't matter what people think..."

One would be detained under ISD if one tries to stage one. I'm not sure if preparing for one is under it as well. -
if the opposition party that would be taking over has people of integrity, love for sg and her people, and not forgetting a sound mind.......i think they can be a better govt.....
but no CSJ in the new parliament pls......

Should that ever happen, anyone who suggests or attempts a coup should be arrested for treason. Let's not fall into the trap of thinking that the statutory boards, agencies and Civil Service will collapse should there be a change of ruling party. Everyone still wants to work, and policies will still be made. The only difference is the vision of the ruling party. This will influence the importance of certain industries and sectors.
It is childish, reckless and provocative to spread fear that Singapore will collapse should the PAP lose power. -

Treat your neighbourhood MP like a salesman, and your ruling party as a company marketing a product. They will never say that the alternative is better, but you as the consumer always shop around for the best bargain or the most relevant version of a product right?
So what's so different about politics? Just explore beyond the first salesman's product, even if he's conveniently located downstairs. Make an informed decision, and know what the hell you are voting for.
