yes, now they 66% nia. This is based on
old trend.
But you need to factor in the
new trends:
1. in 1 year alone, last year , foreigners converted to new citizens was 13K.
2. nearly 60k new PRs last year came in. These are potential new citizens.
3. in next 5 years, the aim is to produce 40K new citizens and 200K new PRs.
33.3% 'market share' may not necessarily increase.
Why?
1. just think. What makes a foreigner quit his motherland citizenship?
I think they like what they see here now. They like how things are done
here now. So, its easy guess who they support. And most new citizens are
matured adults with voting rights. New born by existing citizens will have
to wait at least 21 years to vote.
2. why people migrate? They dun like here? If so, would their departure contribute to decline from 33%?
I do not foresee the voting system of serialization being changed. There is nothing I can see that will change this. absolutely nothing.
What then does this imply?
Also bear in mind the GRC system.
As time goes by, I see that there will surely be more new citizens.
Coupled by the fact that more existing citizens will continue to leave, what does this mean?
2 main factors can shrink the 33%.
Thus, Low and Chiam and Sylvia too, dun rest on your laurels.
Things are set to change.
just my 2 cents.
