Singapore got no more Past= all destroyed in the name of progress, and this has contributed to the general sense of Alienation amongst every singaporean
At this rate, Singapore is a Hotel, not a home -

i agree.....such places of heritage and nostalgia need to be preserved so that everyone will remember what spore was like in the past and will also give a sense of belonging to the elderly,who probably cannot keep up with the rapid development of our country. Such places should be restored and used for purposes that are relevant to today's needs.

Excuse me, but I believe that our gov is ONLY interested in preserving their REVENUES and their onw INCOMES....
If preserving historical places and buildings can bring them more revenues & income for them, you can be sure they'd hopped on it like they did the IR project.... -
If the Govt do not take steps to build social ballast and roots, very soon, we will all leave for better pastures.
