Yes, this is old news but I hope this serves as a reminder since I see serveral g-men "hired dogs" poping up here recently.
“Quiet counter-insurgency”The Straits Times (Feb 3 2007) reports that the government is “mounting a quiet counter-insurgency against its online critics”. This initiative is driven by no less than 2 sub-committees under the main “new media” committee chaired by Manpower Minister, Ng Eng Hen. One of the sub-committees is also headed by a minister – Minister of State for education, Lui Tuck Yew.

then we do a counter counter - insurgency...
let them say what they want....we post what we feel is right.....I would say that there is no hope here...whatever hope there is lies elsewhere....and the best thing to do is migrate.....I say freedom of choice in where we want to stay....
I suppose we cannot stop whatever they do here but the best way is just let our feet do the talking..best not be wasting your effort....elsewhere is surely better than here -

I wouldn't be surprised at all, if what they do is monitor, watch, record, and trace and note down IP Addresses..
After some time, and after they collected sufficient materials and names, they may come knocking at our doors in the dead of night...

But it would be extremely unwise to crack down on the political banter in here, not if we want to keep on the Yanks' good side, not to mention alienate a great deal of the population at the same time, which would be counterproductive.
I don't think our government is as imcompetent as to use such a big stick, the stragety seems to be to contain and discredit, not seek and destroy.
But of course, in the future you'll never know. -
