  Increase GST, increase public transport fares, increase this and that and damn well everything that concerns everyday living....
  
  And the ages old reasoning behind each and every increment; Operating Costs Gone Up...
  
  Ok, I think a lot more people would have been able to accept these increases if ONLY, Service Standards of these things they increased, likewise increased in tandem.. but this isn't and has never been the case!
  
  Ultimately, it has long been observed that our government's concern over our economy is only for their own gains.... we are left to wonder the "woods" armed only with a stick and a box of matches...

  this is how it'll go :
  
  the goverment announces a "relief package" for needy singaporeans, in the form of a gigantic $4400 ang pao for everyone, extra $50 pay for NS men, a few hundred more for retires and destitute people, rise the retirement age to the MM standard of 88 years old (so thoughtful of the goverment, for taking the pain out of retirement planning ... who'd need to retire ? just work till you die ! ), and also announce a $4 million pay rise to all ministers (what ? ... they are humans too mah, they'll feel the pinch just like everyone else, no ? ... )
  
  the goverment's poll percentage will go down from 66.6% to 55.5% ... but nevemind ! ... that's still a good election result ! ...
