Has anyone ever wondered if the highly publicized ministerial pay hike is just a method by the government to take the attention away from the drastic changes taken place within Singapore? I'm sure members on this forum can name them.
Why couldn't the government keep the pay rise discreet? there was no necessity to let the public know about it? what you don't know can't hurt you can it?
I think what you are trying to imply is the ministerial pay raise is a smoke screen for the drastic price increase in almost everything right ? The Govt have the responsibility to announce the pay raise otherwise it would've been corruption ... Furthermore who knows if they have taken more in their discretion ...
If they are going to play dumb on their rising salaries issue, I'm sure that in 4 years' time, they will fall.
