As requested from another forumer who wishes to kow about Islamic command towards beheading..
Again i shall post 2 opposite views.one form an anti Islam site and another what is the actual ruling in Islam.
First off i wish most of you will read this article in pdf format,it make almost anyone (save gandhi) to become an anti Islam.

Im not trying criticising here.... just making a point.. cos u said... beheading is justifiable only at certain times....
now.. can u tell me... if there is any.. wad are the justifications of it? And who provided it? Prophet Muhammad or Allah? The verses?

The way to death this way is inhumane.
You definitely will feel pain, you brain is still alive, and your eyes will still blink.
I still remember a scene when an Abu Sayaf rebel chopped off a Phillipino soldier's head. Worst, its not one chop off, its slicing a bit left.
Its definitely painful. -

However, thereÂ’s still a bunch of followers who still stick by the book to carry out the primitive methods of seperating the head from body in modern times.
It has to be the rewards. The attractive rewards for its followers comes in the form of a paradise package which includes:
· Seventy-Two virgins, who are ever-young, doe-eyed, shy, big-bosomed, and who are ready to satisfy a man’s wildest sexual-fantasies.
· pure water, river, fountains and springs
· River of wine. In paradise, the wine is not intoxicating and therefore not
sinful.
Today, there are much effective ways to execute man. A bullet in the head is clean and fast.
IMHO, it is these fantasies that motivate the followersÂ’ willingness to do by the book. -

When you asked why would a perfect book from god have such words,for in life there are war and conflicts but all times we must always remeber whom we fight for and never to trangress.
And for the verses,it is always important to read the verses prior and post the choice you have made.
An exaple of verse 066.009 a continuation,Allah gives an exples of the acts of unbelievers.

It is a dishonest assertion from googoomuck when he/she didn't take context into account, chose a bad translation of the Quran, ignored what is fiqh, and wouldn't reconcile the fact that besides condemnation with a really outdated language towards unbelievers, there are many other verses urging for peace or of love.
For a start, in 8:55,
If you read the context of the verse, it is about those who agreed for treaties and covenants with the muslims but broke them every time then started wars.
See how misleading it could be?
If one would only take some effort to ask some muslims properly. And you would also know Christians, Jews and other peeps all have a place in heaven.

Its human nature to act compelled to our hearts desire... We can fight, we can react, we can be angry with just the way we are. We do not need a book to dictate how or what killing should be done!

Yes the same for the rest except 9:30. They were in the situation of war. The Quran does mandate fighting back in a defensive war, citing oppression and places of worship (not just the muslim's) being threatened.

9:30, it is typical of the Quran to chide the non-monotheistic practices among some People of the Book (Jews, Christians etc). Another is when some of them assert that only those from their faith will go to heaven. Nopes, many others will.
Eh, in the whole chapter 8, there isnt any word "Jew". At most, it references the tragedy of the Pharoah's people whom God drowned since their disbeliefs follows up with an oppression, again.

YUSUFALI: Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward.

So for muslim we hope that future poster will not post single verses of the quran wihout posting the link to the entire chapter.
the quran is not a book of single verses,but in fact is a stroybook of actual event.In simple term,to gain understadning of one verse you will need the post and preceding verses.
I am very sure that mnay misguided muslim uses single verses to justify beheading,murder and so on..
But for the other side of those who seek to incite misunderstanding of the quran do it too.
Islam is about LIFE,not just love.
In Islam we have laws for love and for hate.
Love and Hate are emotion,sometimes illogical,but we have mid to restrain us from the extremes.
So Islam sets the boundaries -

Islam came after Prophet Moses as.
he spoke in his own laguage but all Prophets from Prophet Adam to the Prophet Jesus as and Propeht Muhammad saw,all speak in their own language.
Also in Islam we believe that Allah has sent messenger to all races,with the samessage,to worship ONE GOD,Allah.
Just for some people understadning,the word Allah mean ONE GOD in arabic.
Coptic christian(arab chrisitan ) uses the term Allah too.
every Holy book taught By Allah is in that Propeht own language.
