Where's the transparency? Demand transparency! It is our money!Originally posted by ShutterBug:Seriously, I think they have used up people's CPF money and need more time to replace it...
That is what CSJ has been trying to get going, but being condemned by both camps at the same time.Originally posted by ShutterBug:I think all it takes, is one incident whereby a SUBSTANTIAL number of people stage a protest outright against how the government is doing things...
Of course, arrests will be made, those involved will have to sacrifice by facing the consequences...
But it will surely make them wake up...
If one group does it once, it wil happen again and more will join in...
I'm not talking rioting, just protesting with billboards...
Firstly, let me dare say that about 95% of Singaporeans lack the kind of guts CSJ has, in taking the Bull by its horns. His approach is very blunt, as his intentions is to show you all, what kind of government we have been coaxed into voting in.Originally posted by Jontst78:That is what CSJ has been trying to get going, but being condemned by both camps at the same time.
The trick is to constantly use the term non-violence. Or the Govt will swing the Sledgehammer, labeled ISA at you. Use the terms like, Start a "non-violent protest", a non-violent march etc..Originally posted by ShutterBug:Firstly, let me dare say that about 95% of Singaporeans lack the kind of guts CSJ has, in taking the Bull by its horns. If enough people with the guts and will to scarifice as much as CSJ, I'm sure we will sooner than later start to see some changes.
Problem is, people here are sitting on the fence, refuse to come out of their comfort zone as too much will have to be jeopardized by going against the government by staging a public protest.
I feel that once and for all, since our government has turned a deaf ear to us all, some sort of Up-rising must happen. A proetst in public by thousands of people, disrupting traffic and daily routines.
Singaporeans have been docile for way too long...to this point where the government is driving us all to our graves with their self-serving "policies".
I'm all for an up-rising...
I already have his book. In fact I'm in his mailing list...Originally posted by Jontst78:The trick is to constantly use the term non-violence. Or the Govt will swing the Sledgehammer label ISA at you. Use the terms like, Start a "non-violent protest", a non-violent march etc..
Read the book, "Power of Courage" by CSJ about non-violent protests. You can get it at Kino for SGD15, in the history section.
I agree with what my friend said - the government instills fear in Singaporeans. This is really obvious, many act like mice when they talk about the government though they are really unhappy and not supportive of the government. Sad!!!Originally posted by ShutterBug:Firstly, let me dare say that about 95% of Singaporeans lack the kind of guts CSJ has, in taking the Bull by its horns. They are just comparing apples to oranges. CPF $$$ is not pension, it is our very own hard earned $$$. The gahmen will always follow whatever that benefits them and ignore the people of Singapore. What a big bully!!Originally posted by Rephidim:This is terrible economics. No wonder Lim Boon Heng is minister of old people, because old people dont do economics and finance.
I rather the CPF money in my hands at 62 than in the Govt's hands.
At 62 the private investments we can make with the liquidity from the CPF may well far exceed the crappy interest rates the Govt offers. Plus inflation per year 50 years later, our money will only deteriorate in the CPF account versus buying property or bonds with the credit surplus.
His excuses are bullshit, the Japanese govt is pushing for the retirement age later so they dont have to handout welfare from their own pockets. SG's "pension fund" is our own money that we have saved up.
SG copying them is like preventing us from using our money to eat.
We have to stop being quiet and complain in online forums only, lets write to the papers.
Guess they are timid in their way, they want to do it but dare not be so firm to tell us, gotta find excuses to substantiate. This is their normal style!!!Originally posted by ShutterBug:I believe this latest idiocy in CPF Retirement Age Withdrawal diferment is not as STUPID as they will get... coz it is gonna get even dumber..
I can't imagine how they can pay themselves such salaries when all they bluddy do is go around COPYING what others are doing...!!
Why can' they for bluddy once, really crack their eggheads and come up with something CUSTOMIZED for Singapore's society??? Instead of always jumping onto bandwagons...!!
Lame as hell government...
I'm amazed...Originally posted by mistyblue:If old lee lived to 100, will the age to with-draw Minimum sum from CPF be raised to 80 since it is proven that people in Singapore are indeed living longer lives?
Excellent that you have the book!Originally posted by ShutterBug:I already have his book. In fact I'm in his mailing list...
I know about Non Violence, but however non-violent his activities were, the gov invariably throws the book at him...
This does shows what we have as a government...
cowardly to any real political competitions...
No offence bro, really...Originally posted by Jontst78:Excellent that you have the book!
Pardon me if I came across as presumptuous.
to add on to your list - the latest is Dengue fever!!Originally posted by ShutterBug:I'm amazed...
I just wonder, what and how the hell the can conclude that people are now a days living longer???
Do a search, and see the number of locals coming down with the following:
>> Heart Diseases
>> High Blood Pressure
>> High Cholestrol
>> Diabetes
These are all on the bluddy rise!!!
Unless one can substantiate such outlandish claims, it is best to keep these assumptions to one's self... or risk being thumbed down into the ground like so many others...Originally posted by ceecookie:I suspect the govt is rasing the CPF limit as they cant afford to give the money to the public when they withraw their so called "CPF"(In fact a coffer for govt to spent b4 the public withraw). In other words, think a bank using public money and having problems returning the money upon withrawals.
This is due to internal corruption involving most of the government ministers and the PAP party members that is using up 60%+ of the CPF balance
And of course, some of the money(in millions) may be funding North Korea, courtesy of PAP.
It is here, that what little lee-way they allow us, stops.Originally posted by CheHyeon:I think that the government should not be showing extreme negativity with regards to non-violent protests. Here in Aussie, non violent protests happens commonly and I can really vouch that they are effective at bringing the voices of the people across to higher organisation. These protests are often well organised and pre-empted by the locals. Any inconvience caused by such protests are usually minimised because of that.
Maybe the Singapore government should let up on it's rules with non-violent protests and hear the voices of people for once. That would also not only unite the people but elucidate to the government on the issues that are really affecting us.
The only good solution is to vote them out of power!!!Originally posted by ShutterBug:I'm really peeved by the gov...
They are indeed dishing out ill-conceived policies faster than we can bitch or rant about them in here..!![]()
