I dont see how you can contribute to this thread when you have been living in australia for the past 5 to 6 years.Originally posted by fymk:First of all, Swissotel is a 4 star/5 star type of hotel - they should book for their tourists.
I live in canberra and I can tell you that the taxis here are rare compared to Metropolitan Sydney and Metropolitan Melbourne. Even then , Sydney and Melbourne taxi service is not that great compared to Singapore's number of taxis.
I was booked into a hotel for a month so that I can find accomodation - the hotel is not a 4 star even - they still call a taxi for me at any time of the day. Of course everyone knows to wait for it sometimes because taxis could be ferrying politicians and their aides from the airport to Parliament house and back or officials from one department to another during certain periods.
I don't see what a big deal this should be.
in singapore even 5 star hotel cannot get taxi at peak hr unless guest willing to pay limo rate $35 per trip.Originally posted by fymk:First of all, Swissotel is a 4 star/5 star type of hotel - they should book for their tourists.
