Work beyond 65.. who are interested? never get the chance to retire, will u be affected?

As long as u live in S'pore..... forget about retireing. Because most of us will not have enough to live a comfortable life if we do.
btw..... retire or not depend very much on how much money you have and not your age. If U kena $10 Million ToTo, u could retire right now. If like most of us, then just have to keep working lor.

Don't forget that as we get older, our health is failing ($$$), your children wants to go to a oversea U ($$$), and some 'Uncle' have 2nd home in Batam (even more $$$).

I'm only 23 this year. By the time I get to 64, maybe the govrt will announce impending plans to up CPF withdrawal age to... 80 because life expectancy is 100! "Get back to work, granny!" is what they will be telling me. *gasp*

The young ones are going to suffer. I am not sure whether I am going to live so long. Look like we will never get our CPF back. Maybe next time raise to 70, 75 ....80, work & work until u turn to skeleton, in the end, exchange to hell notes and burn to the dead, hahahaha....cost of living & GST keep on increasing to support the salary hike of xxxx, CPF will never be enough. No more retirement for us.

of course! with the minimum sum keep on increasing i might not get to see my cpf.

I'm 33 this year..... long ago already given out the hope of seeing my CPF as one lump sum. The way i see it..... sooner or later they will said that a avg S'pore can live to XX age. Then at the age of 65-67, they will divide the total amount of Money you have by months till XX year old. If you live beyond XX years old, they will still pay you monthly. The next question is -how much money you need to retire in Singapore?
My life would be comfortable if my health does not fail and I don't need my CPF money if I can work till 85. If I can afford to send my children overseas I will want them to repay me, at least for some years. But...many things are not in my control when I get older.
If I don't have enough to retire in Singapore, should I then retire in some outskirt areas in Guangdong, or Hainan, where every $ I have can stretch 5 times? or invest everything down under to get a PR so that my medical bills at old age are taken care of?
government recognises the aging population problem, but what are they doing, are they doing enough, are they doing only for the rich and the elites??If I can't retire in Singapore, should I even think about contributing to Singapore anymore, including supporting the highly paid ministers?
If old people have no future in Singapore, Singapore will have no future. CPF is just one of the issues involved. -

For all we know (and I wouldn't be surprised), given enough time andsh|t from them, it will eventually become NO WITHDRAWAL AT ALL and the GE done away with...
With them, a lot of impossible things are possible to them... unique to the entire world's governments... -
