If anyone spouts nonsense, let it be seen by all. Do not group us with some who simply post destructive comments for comments' sake.
There's normally one who boasts that he has doctor sons and scolds all sort of vulgarities against the PAP.
And another one who urges all to quit Singapore everytime he comes in.

There seems to be a rut in Speaker's Corner that some forumers cannot get out of.
The topic of this thread is " All out to defame people critizising THE governement "
The focus as usual has shifted from "the people" to the usual banter about the government.
Its amazing how these forumers present the same view again and again in different form in as many topics.
I hope my post here is defamatory to the people who critise the government.
They are clearly unhappy losers, the tone of their post clearly expose them.
Singapore with all its short commings is still as good a place, if not better than most other places mentioned by these losers.
Which place in the world is complaint free?
Why go to a "perfect" and then feel sore about Singapore from there?
Judge a buffet in its entirety, and not by the one dish that is not to your liking..
I think the issue here is really about choice. There are many people who would rather live in a not-so-good place of their own choosing rather than in a Disneyland prison where they have no choice.Originally posted by mancha:~ditto~

One that does not want the people to criticize them when they take public money to increase their million dollars salaries?Originally posted by Atobe:How many other countries that claim First World Status will have its Citizens lived under Third World Political, Social and Economic Conditions?[/color]
I think you have lost the plot. Perhaps you need to broaden your horizons.Originally posted by mancha:~ditto~

Well in a way I can agree with you - they should not have punitive measures but should encourage people to report in . In another I can't in regards to HDB.Originally posted by Atobe:The ''High Density Crowing'' was due to the decision from this Ruling Party that formed The Government for the last 50 years; and if group decision is the norm, then the entire Cabinet is to be blamed for creating an environment that encourages mosquito breeding.
The Talented in the Government create and construct buildings that result in easy mosquito breeding, and expect the low wage Singaporeans to keep the environment free from mosquito breeding - OR face severe penalties of a hefty fine or jail or both (no concern if one is a low waged earner).
Such is the talent we have in this Government - build HDB homes in such high density that encourages mosquito breeding. The Government will then entrap the hapless citizens to buy these HDB homes - as urban renewable programs will require the relocation of the entire population into New Towns - (shades of the Emergency Period when entire rural populations were relocated into camps called New Villages). With the Citizens occupying these new homes, the Citizens are suddenly required to maintain the faulty housing designs, and the penalties imposed for mosquito breeding will become anotherr source of revenue for the government - if the faulty designs are not maintained and cause mosquitoes to breed.
This is a no-win situation for Singaporeans - until the next elections, if Singaporeans still remember the events of 2007.
ehhh... so they can increase their salaries even more, Singaporeans be d@mned?Originally posted by fymk:Another is overcrowding - why the hell do they want to target the population at 6.5 million people? It is worse than Sydney and Sydney is far bigger to cope with the overpopulation because they can always spill into suburban /rural areas. I just don't know why.
OK, I shouldn't label ppl here.Originally posted by Rock^Star:I think you have lost the plot. Perhaps you need to broaden your horizons.
Did you just label "losers"? I think you have little idea on what has been debated in Speaker's Corner all these years.
They even bring in topic that are totally ridiculous, like the "China Mandarin System", just to take a bash at the governmentOriginally posted by mancha:OK, I shouldn't label ppl here.
There is the usual cohorts who seize every opportunity to bash the government, even when the topic is about people and their quirks.
They go on about GRC, ministers pay, elitism, freedom of expression, defamation suits, control of the press, etcetra in just about any topic in Speaker's Corner.
They have such a gnawing resentment in them, that they ignore the actual topic. They have an ulterior motive and its not presenting their opinion. It is to repeat and repeat their grouses at every opportunity in the hope that it would take root.
If I post a topic like "Would Anime help promote political awareness amongs our youths?" Very soon the debate would go off tangent into the FT/PRC debate, the defamation suits, the ministers salary, GST.............
I already apologised to the thread starter.Originally posted by mancha:Look into the topic "Lack of social cohesion-whose fault is it?"

Why would you do that? Their propaganda machine will be able to do a much better job than you ever will... which is why I do not bother to...Originally posted by ShutterBug:IF, there are anything or more things that are GOOD about or that the government has done, I'd gladly comment and praise them.
