As for BVRs, RSAF has 50 AIM-7Ms, and 100 Amraams, if the Rafale is being purchased, I'm pretty sure Mica will be in the package too...

Putting aside the question of whether RSAF in fact has S300 or not, lets examine the needs for it in the first place.
Would Singapore require any SAM that has the range > 40km? Given the radius for the center (eg. Bt Timah) to Changi or Tuas is at most 20+KM, placing I-Hawks around the 4 corners in Sg will be sufficient to down any low to medium hostile planes. Any planes outside the engagement zone can effectively be engaged by the fighters with BVRs.
Unless the hostility is from Malaysia and Indonesia (God forbid), having such long range SAMs do not make sense, unless they acquire short range tactical ballastic missiles like Scuds. -
Having a long range SAM does have its advantages.the purpose LR sam really doesnt necessary to shoot down Incoming ballistic missile.Missile>Sam such as PAC2 shoots down planes at all altitude,dun tell me the RSAF is going 2 allow the fighters to drop their Paveway or 500/1000 lb bombs before we can shoot them down isnt it better to shoot them before they even fly into singapore airspace.at least if 1st shoot fails , we still have ample time to launch several LR-SAM,before them enter our AREA
er......i think RSAF has more than just 50 Aim-7 BVR quite convinced.Wow if Mica is brought into singapore airforce invnetory huh....we got 3 types Amraam,sparrow and mica.whao! y we need so many varietries for what purpose.
Actually if RSAF decided to acquire Rafale what i m interested is will SCALP/APACHE AGM be procure at the same time.

anyway, i doubt Singapore has this SAM, seems a bit too futuristic for Singapore. . ., and its a secret pretty hard to hide if Sg has it. . . -
6 simultaneous targets just means that the radar directors are able to guide 6 missiles to their targets at any one time.
