Your posts is totally incoherent. Who are you talking about? Mah Bow Tan? Since when did he become a PM and why did you call him an ex-PM? I thought you could be talking about GCK or LKY.Originally posted by robertteh:When you were the PM, you had the once-in-a-lifetime rare opportunity to do something for the country by recognizing the root cause of problems like rising costs of living by reversing or modifying wrong government policies such as double charging on lands on housing or basic services.
The double charging on lands by HDB in sale of low-cost housing at market prices has been exposed by the public without any credible replies from the HDB or Minister Mah Bow Tan to this day. Mah Bow Tan seems to be avoiding this issue.
So if being the ex-PM, he did not have the courage or ability to check on wrong policies that caused the perpetual rising costs of living thereby undermining the growth and vibrancy of the domestic economy, how could he now offer any good advice to younger ministers when he himself obviously had miserably failed to do so.
So one by one the young ministers will copy his example by keeping quiet about the whole issue hopefully people will forget them over time.
Is this sort of leadership the younger generation wants to have nowadays in the age of globalization.
Do we want to see such pretensions repeated ad nausem in Singapore political evolution?

What an hypocrite who dared not change when given opportunity as PM to do so and now he speaks as if he has been so good and so pro-business and pro-people and will cut costs.

At a time when everyone is cursing at the further delay of the CPF Minimum Sum till after 65 years old, this title of the ''CPF Conman'' should appear under a photo of PM LHL and President Aroyo of the Philippines.
Surely the lady President has no influence over our CPF ?

The reason why you think that Singaporeans who vote for PAP are stupid is because you think you are smart. Are you really that smart?Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:If proven to be Prophetic, then one day Singaporeans wake up....
I don't see how Singaporeans can be so stupid... what exactly do they think they have to lose by putting effective opposition into parliament to ensure that CPF money and reserves do not get stolen...
How sure are u that the CPF are stolen by the govt? Be more mature in ur use of words. If the retired ppl din get their money by the time they reached the promised age, then u can say logically that the govt lied.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:If proven to be Prophetic, then one day Singaporeans wake up....

Are you saying that just because there are corruptions, abuse of power or lawlessness etc in other countries, we must allow our leaders to carry on using their powers to do what they like without accountability as seen in NKF >Originally posted by gigabyte14:all countries are the same boy
power, money and fame corrupts the mind.
Lim Boon Heng said that the raising of the retirement age helps boost employment rates for this age category of citizens.Originally posted by morbid4ever:How sure are u that the CPF are stolen by the govt? U are a writer. Can u be more responsible in ur use of language? Yes, PAP does make mistakes from time to time and there are many policies that I dont really like either. But let's be fair and dont use such slanderous words. Ppl are already upset over the CPF issue. By flaming the govt does not improve the situation, but instead gave others a wrong and inaccurate idea that PAP are blatantly robbing of Singaporean rightful CPF.
There may be vested interest in delaying the CPF to the retirees but we cannot, in fairness says that the govt STEAL their money.
Do read my post, I did say the govt may have vested interest in doing this.Originally posted by Rock^Star:Lim Boon Heng said that the raising of the retirement age helps boost employment rates for this age category of citizens.
However, he hasn't explained how it helps.
The older the worker, the lesser his CPF contribution. Employers should be happy to employ this category of workers.
Except to hoard more money from Singaporeans, what reason can there be?
Life expectancy of Singaporeans at birth is also not even beyond 80. The current CPF payout can last till age 82. Why the need to extend the retirement age?

Except to hoard even more money from Singaporeans, what other reason can there be?
Do think carefully before you accuse AndrewPKYap of something which he has not done.

Do read my post, I did say the govt may have vested interest in doing this.
But andrew says the govt STEALS the money! There is a difference between Stealing and delaying. Stealing means it is really gone forever without ur knowledge.
No, I am not a PAP fanatics, no need to quote from sources abt how the ministers din explain well abt the CPF issue.
I am against ppl who did not use precise words in their statements.
Imprecise statements can be hazardous. Just my 2 cent.
Great minds think alike... and also hor... by saying that, he is actually condemning the very people he supports... Using of more precise words prevents unnecessary trouble.Originally posted by Rock^Star:I'm sure he meant "stolen" in the literal sense and certainly tongue in cheek but still, the word's usage is warranted.
