3 extra strokes for prisoner: Govt regrets error

  Well, they did mention that its on the error of the court clerk, which could be any of us here.
  
  Though we do not know if it IS really on the fault of the clerk, its hard to say something like "What if someone in ah gong's family got fined $3k extra for their family fines", cause we all know that will never happen.
  
  The fact is that we deal with the elites differently from the common people, cause we regard them as brighter, smarter, or even superior from us.
  
  I think there's a host of other problems behind this simple error..

  What type of gahmen is this???? If they hang the person wrongly, then they are gg to say that they regretted the error??? WTF!!!!

  gahmen should juz give the mother of the prisoner the $300k she wanted.....she said that she would settle for 300k if it was out of court.....

  Singapore Law System follows the Britain (UK) precedent.

  But I think the lawyer is aiming for too much. And the lawyer is seeking compensation based on US and Britain law?!? That would be possible if the court is held in those places. E.g. Like during the Taiwan airport accident. In Singapore, we only follow Singapore law. Can't understand why the lawyer don't even understand basic principles.

  The government's follow up action is very important... let's see what they would do in this case.

  It was a mistake of the court clerk (who by the way, is usually an 'A' level school leaver, far from a highly paid elite). If anything it shows we need to pay more for better qualified people to work as court clerks.
  
  Some compensation is appropriate. Nevertheless, this young punk is a criminal and the extra strokes will do him good. He just might remember his lesson better.
