YOu are being very one-sided, you can't for the sake of siding and defending the "good" govt you go on to blame others for the dengue fever. I am in no fault. As it is there are people from NEA going round to check on the environment. If these people are not doing their job, you blame the resident for not reporting. Even if you want to side the "caring" govt, you need not resort to be so unfair.
Don't point fingers at the residents!!!
Read my post again more carefully.
I said, if you have already alerted the authorities and they are not doing anything about this, then it is their fault. However, the only point I'm trying to make here is that we should not just sit on our hands and wait for the government to do something. Yes there are NEA inspectors going around, but there can never be enough of them to go around checking every nook and cranny of the whole island within a reasonable frame of time to really make a significant impact on curbing the dengue outbreak. We should help ourselves here by notifying NEA if we happen to spot mosquito breeding sites and if we can, take steps to wipe out those sites ourselves.
I'm not taking any side here. I'm just trying to give a balanced and objective opinion. And I am not blaming anybody here. I'm just saying, if you think the government cannot solve the problem for you, try solving it yourself first.
It's surprising that so many Singaporeans like to blame the government for being overly restrictive and paternalistic and yet when problems arise they still blame the government for not doing enough instead of trying to solve the problems themselves first.
