Here's my observation; if they can't "buy" over people who has the ability to outwit and out-talk them, they will ultimately murder their opponents politically... -
It is either this or that, doesn’t this sound familiar? Military style? It is just plain fact that he just doesn’t have the sort of calibre and intelligence to manage to be the PM. So we gotta swallow bitter pill for the fact that he is being paid super high salary. No calibre, no intelligence to manage, passion to serve people and reaching down to the level of common people are questionable – base on all these he just don’t seem to deserve $3.1m. What he says so far, the ordinary folks can also say and suggest. He is nothing outstanding; in fact he does not display the sort of qualities and ex-factor for a position as a PM. May be it is because of his background. His predecessors labour, and he is enjoying the fruit of their labour now. I did not vote for him. And PAP did not ask the public's opinion. So is he Singapore's Prime minister or is he PAP's prime minister. If he's Singapore's Prime Minister then there's no need to raise the GST and Bus Fares. People will have a stable job and moreover at least every individual family will haf a house to live in and not tentages along East Coast Park and in Trucks load with family members living in.

With all the unsuccessful event in the international front do you think PM Lee still got any chance to lead? Did you notice foreign policy are now shoulder by SM and MM ?

Since when has he or have they owned up to anything negative economically? They only wanna reap credecntials and credits for ALL positives!
There are lots of capable people around, but NO ONE will rise up from the woodworks knowing the way the gov deals with 'REAL competititors'.
Look at Sylvia, she can cut through with her words, but she seldom speaks as I'm very sure she is aware and is just bidding for time - the right time...

I believe in what my dad said. Should we one day wake up, and our ministers are wiped out, contrary to what LKY said, I don't think we will become maids and labourers. Our civil service, being so well-oiled, will continue to run until a new cabinet is setup. -

Sorry, to me, having a degree only proves that a person is good at studying that's all.
Let me quote you a case where I think its a proof of stupidity
When he was forced to hold GST back by 1% (he wanted to hike the GST from 3% to 5%, but was forced to hike it up to 4% first, then 5% later), he made comments about holding back the GST, and saying that its only a psychological effect that people are so uptight about the GST increase (its only a few cents, he means)
Do you know that in retail, its ALL ABOUT psychology? Marketing Ads, publicity stunts, are all meant to work on differentiating goods from one another, and in most cases, are more about psychology than about truth.
As a Finance Minister then, I could not believe he made that statement (its just psychological), it shows how much he does not know about the economy...

Well, he has certainly lost quite a bit of the moral authority to lead through his "mee siam mai hum" gaffe and unpopular policies such as the GST hike and ministerial pay rise.
However, as a leader he is still very much unproven. He has inherited quite a smooth-running system from his predecessors and has yet to really meet up with a serious crisis. In my opinion, crisis-handling is one of the hallmarks of whether a person is a good leader or not. Hence, it may be a genuine concern whether LHL would be capable of leading the country through a major crisis and emerge with credit. -

Tell everyone to tighten belt, turn around and raise his own salary. also need to use OUR money to attract people to work for him if not no one want to work for him
Say everyone's opinion is important, and promise to make our country open and inclusive. People complain, ask us to shut up.
80% of singaporeans' salary never go up much in the last 10 yrs, but he let everything else price increase, some more join in the bandwagon by upping GST to 7%

He did well in his study. But he is not intelligent as a PM. how long more must we wait for him to step down. At the rate he is going, how to trust him to give us a bright, good future.
