For decades, real Singaporeans are disgusted with influx of foreigners who shamelessly come to live and work in Singapore. About half of our population now is made up of foreigners.
They infest our public transport and street. They bring diseases (eg. SARS) and killed our loved ones. Most importantly, these dirty foreigners steal jobs from real Singaporeans! Our men serve National Service and die for foreigners' happiness!
Since 1990s, the government been actively converting foreigners to citizens. It is a desperate solution to the declining birth rate. Blatant propaganda about "foreign talent" by the media is merely a pretext to justify their lie.
Get lost dirty foreigners! Real Singaporeans suffer so much in silence. Please rot in your rotten countries - Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, China, India etc.

you cant really say they snatched our job wat , job are available but so many local dont want it , then how , hire foreigner lor , willing to work yet cheap
Job like , toilet cleaning , floor sweeper , foodcourt washing dish , factory job are available , we ourself consider it as shit job , no class , and doesnt worth the education certificate.
Thus , what we want are office job or air condition shops , not those factory when u work and keep sweating under the hot enviroment. Beside those old aunty and uncle who really need a job to support ownself do it , there no one else so call in the foreigner

I don't agree with the foreign talent policy but what can you do when overpaid ministers continue to allow them in? Chase them out and there will be more foreigners to replace them. -
If foreigners who are truly talented and creating jobs are allowed to come in to take up jobs or invest in our economy, that will be fine.
If ministers have been running down the economy by wrong policies which drive up costs of living and doing business and at the end in desperation need to open up all our citizens' jobs to foreigners, that is sheer dereliction of duties and responsibilities.
Based on ministers' claim that foreigners are contributing to job creation, people have asked for figures but all that MOM has given is a big lump-up figure of job creation (not due to working of ministers' economic restructuring) figure which include the number of jobs taken by foreigners.
Instead of creating jobs many foreign workers without the needed skills requiring orientation and in-house re-training are actually employed to take over jobs which can be easily filled by locals.
It is over-promotion of foreign talents which turn off the people not the fact that we need certain foreign talents to improve our economy.
The whole foreign talent policy stinks and ministers will have to show that foreigners are not taking away jobs which can be easily filled by unemployed citizens. -
REAL SINGAPOREANS are way more tolerant and smart enough make the distinction between honest people and scum, or so I hope.
You, on the other hand, are nothing more than a Nazi dragging the name of the few good Singaporeans that exist in the dirt. -

To this matter of Local Livelihood Robbery, I say it is the fault of the government for NOT REGULATING the influx hence affecting serverely all local jobs across the board. I believe in Globallization, but what has being a Hawker, a Food Court Assistant, a Kopitiam Boy/Aunty, etc., got to do with Globalization?
Anyway, the part about locals NOT taking up minial jobs; Let me ask you all WHO, instilled in the people of Singapore, to study hard and score high in academics to ensure a decent career?? Currently there are very few illiterates, mostly desperate unemployed UnderGrads/Grads.
Do well educated people feel that it is fair to now settle for minial jobs when they slogged through years of education funded by their loving parents??
Yes, I am aware there are some who have settled for less, but there will remain a large percentage of those, who will try to realize the goals/dreams, and the other camp of young talents who are already working towards working abroad and NEVER returning...
Don't give me the c0ck & bull about Global Exchange of Labour - WE DO NOT have the population mass or land mass, to HEALTHILY accomodate that theorem...!!!

If foreigners take up jobs that no Singaporeans want, then it is okay. Jobs such as shipyards workers, cleaners etc. But now more and more of them are taking office jobs such as manager, lecturers etc.

It is either they come Singapore to compete with you or stay in their own country to compete with Singapore, but eventually the government has decided to compete with other countries by attracting their workforce over to Singapore. You got to find your way since you are not the decision maker.

But still, most people are FOR foreigners... and as many pointed out correctly, our parents/grandparents/greatgreatparents are "foreigners" too.
Unfortunately, that is the fact of the matter - the world is getting smaller and no matter where you go, it is important to work with people of different nationalities...

we should not be so pampered lah, we should be proud to be competitive, we need a competitive environment to train us up. otherwise we cannot compete with the growing countries around us -- HK, Vietnam, Thailand etc. These countries will not remain status quo, they will also become competitive.
Just look at china, last time they close their doors, see what happened to the chinese of the past? now compare to when the doors are unlocked, see how competitive the new chinese become? Open your eyes, there is also not much choice.
