i am 100% singaporean who freq. china for business.
while the accusation at china were relatively true but i guess everybody in the whole supply chain has a role to play.
eg. when this big milk powder manufacturers look for subcontractors, they should have a responsibility by ensure the factory meets the criteria of their products at all times. but did they do it? did anyone question the role of original manufacturers. such things could be avoided when engineers or laboratories from their company is attached to these company to do frequent check and audit.
eg. in the case when someone bought a mango jeans and compare between china and morocco made. while it is easier to say china subcontractors that made mango jeans are of lower quality but im 100% that mango knows of such deficiency but choose to keep it from customer for the reason of more profiteering.
while it is easy to point fingers at china for its fault unscupulous profiteering. but the manufacturers has a bigger role to educate its subcontractors that strict manufacturing quality should be follow.
the world arent going to stop buying china pdts. because it support the whole world demands for cheap and reasonable quality of products. No govt in the world will stop import from china because china cheap imports keep inflations low and to µ×�ú our GST 7% . -

Easier said than done. Both sides have a part to play. I've done some work for some companies who manufacture their goods in China. While they have people here who will fly to China frequently to check that they are following standards, teach them how to use the machines to produce better products, once these people fly back to Singapore, they are back to their old ways.
They substitute various ingredients with other sub-standard ingredients from other manufacturers or totally replace it with another product that looks like the original product.
During one of the routine checks, one of the managers found out that standard procedures have not been followed and reported back to the main office for actions to be taken, because such sub-standard goods will affect the company's image.
The main office didn't give a hoot. I have not seen such an office, one who would care for short-term profits rather than long-term. -

Exactly, with the exception if imitation goods. its is the responsibiity of whole supply chain not just china that should bear the responsibilities.
The world need pdts from china at a cheap price, mark my words, some of the company dont really care whether their subcon are up to standards as long as they are cheap and of reasonable quality.
i know some good company that attached their own company engineer or laboratorians in china subcons permanently to ensure strict production control.
those company that you mention come and go at china subcons why?
to save expenses! thus pay the price. who pay? we pay! -

Even without China failing, our All-wise government will ensure inflation here in SG...already it is happening like wild fire...
I don't think China is all that almighty - they may be large, they may have huge resources, but, the cow-minded people there will stunt their own counrty's growth... -

Just saw on the news about more of China unethical ways of doing business : Buns' filling made from discarded cardboard that found at dump site which was soak in chemical that was meant for recycling. What make it even worse was the buns were sold by a famous restaurant chain in BEIJING!!! Scary
. Definitely won't be travelling to China or won't be buying any food stuffs 'Made In China'. -

the prices jhave gone up alot recently due to cutting supply from china.
