But did the rail crash happen ?? exactly . And just to add in something. Most of these news are discovered and reported by China's state owned television CCTV . So as we can see here they are not denying the problems, from the fake building materials were discovered by Chinese inspector, and now case is now being investigated, proper material now are being used, they are not hiding anything. So are u saying China is the only country with fake products problem ??? I believe there are many other developing out there with exactly the same problems if not worse, but those problems never grab the headlines because firstly, they are ignored by their government and media, inspectors cannot bovvered to report, they want to hide them.
Yes China has plenty of fake products problem but on the other hand, you gotta give them credit for being open and not hiding these things from the world, and willing to do things to correct them . Same thing for the tainted steamed buns, it was discovered and reported by CCTV and now those criminals are all arrested. And as we can see from the article above, at least their government is doing something to address the problems,cracking down small stores, illegal factories.... -

To date, I am still looking and hoping to find something credible nad positive to say about China and its people... but so far, it is still the same kind of unsavioury news...

More than $500 million worth of pirated software, including counterfeit Microsoft and Symantec products, has been seized in a long-running joint probe by Chinese police and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, officials from both countries said on Tuesday.
The operation began in 2005 and has led to 25 arrests and the smashing of several pirating syndicates in China that were making and distributing counterfeit software around the world, mostly to the United States.
"The cooperation between the U.S. and China is an important development," said Steven Hendershot, the FBI's legal attache in Beijing. "But we still have a long way to go."
Widespread intellectual property rights violations across a range of industries, including software, music, movies and fashion, have been a major source of friction between China and major trade partners the United States and Europe.
Details of what officials called the "unprecedented co-operative effort" between China's policing ministry and the FBI were unveiled to the media at an intellectual property conference in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen.
More than 290,000 counterfeit software CDs and certificates of authenticity have been seized in the operation.
Six manufacturing and retail facilities were dismantled and 47,000 counterfeit Microsoft CDs seized, as well as equipment to manufacture Symantec computer software products.
The FBI estimated the retail value of the software seized at more than $500 million.
The figure represents 10 percent of software piracy losses in China in 2006, according to the Business Software Alliance. -

I had a fren who repaired planes at SIA. He told me he and his colleagues were often shocked when they opened up China aircrafts. He told me that there were many plane crashes in China but covered up if they happen in rural areas with no foreigners on board or witnessing. You cannot really say it is possible to entirely cover up, just take that steamed buns with cardboard filling hoax as an example, firstly it was reported and broadcasted to the nation, as you see they did not cover up this. But later on when the police raided the place, the owner said the only added the cardboard with the suggestion of the reporter, they really had no ideas. Can people please just talk like a civilized person. Why people keep getting confused between China and America, those are 2 different countries. They are not friends nor enemies, but it'd be great if they can be friends. I don't think China is showing any hostility towards america and it is willing to cooperate with America on many fields but I don't know why some or many americans on the net always show some type of aggression towards China. It is the western media that hyped up China's threat, China's superpower, China's century. Chinese media never said such things. I am not at all surprised there are fake stuff in China. This kind of problem is prevalent in almost every developing country. In Russia and India the situation is much worse. Prepare to be shocked by what I am about to show:

In India too counterfeiting has become a serious problem. Take the case of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), cosmetics, drugs, and industrial products in India. The statistics are staggering. Nearly 40 percent sales on automobile spare parts are in counterfeits. Nearly 30 percent of the FMCG market and 20 percent of the tobacco market is counterfeit. Fake stuff problems exist in almost every country. In Russia and India the situation is just as bad if not worse but why china seems to receive so much attention from world media? That is because China is growing faster than any other country. The meteoric rise of China has upsetted the interests of many other countries(especially Uncle Sam). Therefore whenever there is any problem(regardless how small or big) concerning china it will surely receive much much more attention.
Simply put, China is being put under the magnifying glass.
What I said above applies to a lot of other issues concerning China including human rights. Does anyone understands that the western world is so fond of exaggeratting and fabricating lies about human rights abuses in China? Prepare to be shocked:

On one hand the western world(especially Uncle Sam) never stops talking about human rights abuses in China. (I have already proven that a lot of western accusations against china's human rights abuses are nothing but lies) but yet on the other hand western countries(especially Uncle Sam) are ignoring the real massive human rights abuses happening in other countries.

Not long ago EU nations were debating whether or not to lift the arms embargo imposed on China. Uncle Sam once again intervened saying that China should not be allowed to import weapons from Europe. Reason given by Uncle Sam is that China's human rights record is poor.
Here comes the question:
If Uncle Sam feels that countries with poor human rights record should not be allowed to buy weapons, then why is Uncle Sam itself more than willing to sell weapons to countries like Saudi Arabia? Can anyone pls answer my question?

Last week there was a Program by ABC showing china Shipping fake Drug including Tamiflu tablet into US, they can shipped 200 pills a day. And when you open the packaging look exactly like the real manufacture. It has no real active ingredients in the Pill. If you got Bird Flu that is all you need a Fake pill that does nothing.
They set up office in the US to buy up real medication and shipped it back for R&D to manufacture Fake packaging. The PRC travel to Las Vegas for trade show they buy up real garment sample. shipped it back to China to manufacture fake goods.
These are determine folks who's purposes are to make money. They do not care about safety, hygenic, creativity, business practices.
Recently there was reported that 27 billion worth of fake goods, Nike, Lacoste, caught in NY. 27 people got caught. mostly PRC origin. They go to the extend of tranship it to Mexico than move it back to the US. The extend of network is impressive. I would not be surprise some of these goods tranship thru SG. Declared under FTA agreement.
Last year there was a warehouse where 17 containers were caught in a single warehouse in Los Angeles all branded stuff. Each pcs price over US$100 I am sure.
All the Singaporean tourist spend money to travel to US factory outlet thinking they are buying branded goods but infact it is Branded Fake goods. The cost of these fake range from US$5.00 a pcs to US$8.00 they spend US$90 a pcs. who is the sucker.
