If you are a civil servant does government employ you?

  If people do not vote for them where is the government?
  
  Government is merely a group of citizens employed by the people to look after certain affairs of state. Government when elected is only the employee or servants of the people. At the most, it is only the trustee where funds and assets belonging to the people need to be looked after as part of their duties and responsibilities.
  
  So if ever you are employed by the government you are actually employed by the people and the government merely uses the people's monies to employ you the citizen.
  
  They use citizens' fund to employ citizens who will have to work if so employed not for government sake but for the people. If government does anything wrongful, employees of government has the right to tell them off and do what is right for the people in their own perception.

  but do you think that the people(govt cos) working in the govt cos are adopting the same style as the ruling govt? staff in these cos are also afraid of the govt. Was in it and observed this. Seen many unjustified cases. People got blacklisted and so on. In this case, how are these people to tell them off?

  Last time Durai also acted powerful. At the end people triumphed over him because of his golden tap and other wrongdoings. So it is too early to say that government is omnipotent or all too powerful. In the face of nkf it has lost some shine of its seeming omnipotence. The real test as regards its paying its ministers any salaries it like has not come yet but sooner or later there will be fault line or break point.
  
  This break point is where more wrongs are being exposed like the intense profiteering schemes by HDB and URA which are not even disclosed in the annual budget in the gst increases. So it is too early to say who is in charge and will finally decide who call the shot. Singapore is still a young country and has not matured politically on the overriding need of government to serve the people.
