I was at TTSH ANE the other day.. and this lady was screwing the nurses on how the ANE make her pay S$80 for consulation via nets. The payment was less then 5 mins but she complain of waiting for at least 2 hours.. ..hahaha ... and she complained of hike in ministers pay and why nothing has been done... i was tempted to shout back at PAY AND PAY being our nations policy and she shouldnt question it... but i just covered my ears..hmmm
If citizen like her has a problem, the only release is to shout at the street.
So it is not surprising that after the recent million-dollar salary increases, people would expect ministers to be more competitive in providing efficient and value-add services. Is TTSH charging higher fees instead for consultation and what not. So she is entitled to question why after paying ministers higher salaries she is still getting lousy services at higher fees.
Let is hope that after the ministers got their salary increases, PM Lee will devote part of his speech to prove that the ministers are talents and able to understand the plight of citizens as reflected in the above-stated lady patient who complained loudly about TTSH over-charging people for consultation. If this problem of higher fees being charged by all government services after ministers got their salary increases is not solved it may just explode one day like the NKF.
PM Lee owes people a duty to define talent of ministers and whether it should include ability to provide more efficient service at lower costs in return for world's highest salaries and lifelong pensions.
