How many foreign employees can a company have?

Juz out of curiousity, is there such a thing where Ministry of Manpower imposes a law on the number of foreign talents that a company can employ with respect to its Singaporean workers?
I juz started off working as an engineer in a manufacturing company and was shocked to see that most of my collegues are from Philippines, China, India and Korea. Only a handful are locals. The situation there is the direct opposite of my old working place even though it's the same industry. Any comments? -
i doubt there is a quota.

Some countries have a quota imposed as to how many of their citizens you can take
eg. Vietnam -
IN my business, my small little establishment, I only hire locals. And I have a balance of both young and old workers...
To date, I have decided to pack up and take everything with me abroad along with some locals, who wishes to retire where I am going to as well...
This is a trend among small and mediun local setups...and its growing... -
Well, it's would be a sad reality if there's no qouta imposed by the Ministry. Ultimately, this is Singapore, our homeland. If we can't be assured of a job in our own competitive market, then what makes us different from those foreigners skipping their countries to vie for a better life here? Little wonder Singaporeans are leaving.....
In the future, I wonder how our young Singaporeans would cope when they venture out to the working world and realise that they may not be given a probability to get a job in Singapore. A young graduate without any job experience would face adverse competitions not only with themselves but also people of other nations...
Though it's sad to say this, I guess, I put my patriotism at the wrong country...

not surprise. I ever worked in an engineering company, almost 50% of the engineers there are from China. So, I don't think MOM has set any quota/law as to how many foreigners the companies can employ. I think the situation now is if your renumeration not competitive, then no locals want to join. -
There is no quota, if there was, my company confirm closed down long long ago liao.

lol... If I m the manager, I will also want to have engineers tat r from different university, culture and countries... lol... if all my engineers are from Singapore and they think the same, die liao lah...
But however, if local and foreign engineers stand equal, I will show preference to sg 1 ><
