i think this topic would do much better in the chit-chat section...
as far as we're concerned, freedom of speech here is not about cussing each other (though we do that sometimes, but only when people talk nonsense) or talking shit.
here, u wanna make a point, just make it and if it is an interesting point, people will respond/react to it.
don't expect people to make it interesting for you. -

Freedom of speech here heavily dependent on who you are and where you voice your anti-government comments, assuming that freedom of speech equals bitching the government and not the right to be racist or denigrate other people's religion.
We all have a good idea of any slip in semantics when opposition politicians talk about PAP leaders in public. Defamation suits are the norm. But where the Internet and laypersons are concerned, looks like most of us have free reign. Could be deadly wrong considering Bob Ho and Zul Shariff's precedence but maybe they were exceptions to the norm of freedom of expression (includes bitching the government, other races, other religion) in the Internet?
