oh ok now i understand but why pray during lunch time and eat into office hour? cant they pray after work?Originally posted by elindra:Their Sabbath is on Friday.
To the Muslims, I believe they were informed that Allah decided that Friday should be their Sabbath.
Also Friday is a special day for Muslims because:
Allah created Adam on Friday. Adam entered paradise on Friday. He and his wife Eve landed on this planet earth on Friday. He died on Friday.
Friday is a blessing and a sacred day. The doors of Heaven are open of Friday white the doors of Hell are closed. Prayers and supplication (Du 'a') are accepted on Friday. The day of Friday is a day of Peace where all animals, birds and insects say "Peace" on that day.
They also believe that Judgement Day will take place on Friday. Non-Muslims made their own decisions as to Saturday and Sunday.
wat kind of qns is this ? catch no b@ll lah.... you will get yourself flamed if any hardcore muslims were to read tis...Originally posted by leo-kun:why must they go for prayers on fri noon when they only come back after lunch time?

In some muslim countries, fridays are non working days.
If you were working in a country where the majority pray on friday and work on saturday/sunday but you have to pray on saturday/sunday what would you do?
It's fortunate that they don't insist that they be allowed to pray five times a day.Originally posted by leo-kun:oh ok now i understand but why pray during lunch time and eat into office hour? cant they pray after work?

We are not allowed to pray on Friday just because Singapore is not an Islamic state?
We have been doing this during the British and Japanese times and not much problems created, i don't see why this need to be asked.
Question to TS, u have problems with muslim men going to Friday prayers?
Better resolve ur problem quickly.Originally posted by leo-kun:i have no problem for whatever they wan to do during lunch time but not during office hours!
Christians park illegally too during their church days, and the church bells always ring on those days. The muslims do not make a big deal out of it, why do you have to ask such thing? In a multi religious and racial society, it is a case of tolerance, give and take.Originally posted by zaxis:what about they illegal parking along the road.
