Stop avoiding the topic la. Have you found the article that BMJ was refering to? It's an interview with CNN for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!!Originally posted by Mat Toro:I like Steve. He showed that Singapore is an advanced democracy because we are begining to see flashy people and sex scandals in politics.
You people ought to be more open minded as we advance as a democracy.
this point I agree. Doesn't matter what he is doing privately, so long as he is not harming othersOriginally posted by wisefool83:Each has his own preference bah, Steve's personal life may appear to be dodgy to most, but to me, a personal's life often has no link to his political thoughts and actions, we are afterall chossing a MP, not a husband or wife.
I also like PAP's MP Mr Wee Siew Kim of AMK GRC. He has shown Singaporeans that the PAP elites don't give a damn about anyone but themselves.Originally posted by Mat Toro:I like Steve. Sylvia kinda ugly, not pretty enough. Not enough flash factor. Talk a bit artificial.
Chiam and Low quite steady.
Chee hopeless, too stupid. Singaporeans won't support him like that.
Thats right soul, you are getting the idea.Originally posted by soul_rage:this point I agree. Doesn't matter what he is doing privately, so long as he is not harming others
How does PAP eleite show they don't give a damn about others in this episode? please explain.Originally posted by bigmouthjoe:I also like PAP's MP Mr Wee Siew Kim of AMK GRC. He has shown Singaporeans that the PAP elites don't give a damn about anyone but themselves.
Way to go PAP for the double standards! LOL internet privacy, fancy that crap coming from a PAP MP!
Chee's fundings... yoohoo are you missing something here? CNN interview? Does all these ring a bell? Or are we forgetting something here?Originally posted by Mat Toro:How does PAP eleite show they don't give a damn about others in this episode? please explain.

Can we believe you to contradict the high moral standard of the Ruling Party to judge Steve's 'flashy reputation' ?
I suggest sylvia shows a little bit of cleavage to soften her image like Hillary did and bring out the feminism in her. We need leaders who can relate to teh younger generation and speak their language.
Sylvia ugliness is due to your squinted eyes from the mouthful of salt that you have kept in your mouth from the last thread.
With her credibility that is far superior to yours, it will not be a surprise for you to wish her to be more suicideally flashy and get hung by the Ruling Party's dirty politics.
Chiam is not a quiet guy really and Low is very articulate.
Should we be surprised for you to accept the quietness of Chiam and the expressive difficulties that Low has ?
not only me but singaporeans at large.
Of course you will find Chee to be stupid, as it does not take great intelligence to recognise one for all the seemingly silly suicidal actions.
Chee is hopeless, thats why he has so little support from the people.
Surely you continuous efforts to deride Chee as being hopeless must say something about Chee's credibility and the impact that the ''Disobedience Campaign'' and its effectiveness must be similar to the ''Palestinian Intfifadah''.
not true, many people do have the guts to be opposition but only Chee is so foolish.
Chee is the only one daring enough to take the bull by the horns - is it any surprise for you to put in extra effort to kill his reputation - watch out Mat if you think you are Toro, as you will surely be toyed around first before being speared..

LOL, if Mat Toro abides by the kind of comments he is posting, you know just what kind of mentality he has...Originally posted by bigmouthjoe:How does showing abit of cleavage help her to relate to younger generation?
BTW I feel the ones losing votes to the younger generation is the PAP. Controlling of media does not work anymore in the internet age.

Did the ruling party judge Steve? Nope, it was the press who reported it and the people judged. You don't even know what you are talking.
Anyway I think the people r too judgmental. they clearly need to be more tolerant.
Are we seeing you being prodded to venture from your obnoxious one-line hollow statements, into at least venturing into controversial new thinking ?

You seem not to know what you are talking about my fren.
Since when did Singaporeans appoint a person with your supreme idiocy to represent their opinions ?

Is that the only feeble response you can give to what has been written in my reply concerning Chee ?

Did he lose it along the way, or was the mass media manipulated to paint him in a different way that draws public revulsion towards him ?
The government has been ''playing'' with ''mass psychological manipulative methods'' - as can be seen in the month long preparations on the mass media that culminate in the ''mass hysteria'' seen in the final National Day hurrah.
If one is to trace the differences in methods used to deal with CSJ compared to ''political knuckle-dusters'' used towards JBJ in the 1980s, and the ''political steel rods'' against the luminaires from the Barisan Sosialis in the 1960s through 1970s - the manner in dealing with CSJ is more subtle.
The efforts in handling CSJ is in the indirect manipulation of mass media in subtle moulding of the public opinions and views towards CSJ - with carefully selected ''catch-words'' and ''labels'' that sticks onto CSJ personally.
It is as if a kid in school is stucked with a label for the duration of his school life, or that of a Recruit stuck with a label throughout his NSF.
Did [b]''SDP lost Chiam'' or is it more accurate to say ''SDP kicked Chiam out'' ?
''SDP losing Chiam'' indicate that Chiam left on his own accord, or that Chiam choose to be recruited by some other party in favor of the SDP that he created in the 1960s.
According to events that transpired, CSJ was maligned by his NUS Faculty Head - Dr Vasoo (an old-guard from the Ruling Party) - who had approved his expense claims more than a year ago before CSJ stood for election, but will later pull these papers out to accuse CSJ of cheating the NUS.
One must surely ask - Why did the NUS Faculty Head not vetted the claims a year ago before CSJ declared his candidacy to stand for elections under the SDP banner ?
According to the charges made by the NUS Faculty Head - CSJ had over claimed his taxi fare travelling from the NUS to some Child Care Centre for his research on child behavior - claiming some $1 to $2.00 extra, when the ''usual'' taxi fare from the NUS to the CCC should cost some X-fare.
One must surely question the idiocy of such a statement - as on different days, subject to traffic conditions, and on the many different routes that a taxi driver can take - the same trip between the NUS and CCC can cost differently.
The other cheating claim levelled at CSJ - was the charge that CSJ had included his wife's doctoral research together with his research for assessments by an Overseas University - both being sent under NUS funds, when his wife is not employed by NUS.
CSJ had claimed that his wife's doctoral research had formed part of the body of his research, and that it was not uncommon for such joint efforts and deliberate researches to be made.
CSJ went on hunger strike in protest for these false charges - which Chiam did not approve nor supported to the chagrin of the SDP Chairman Ling How Doong and the SDP Executive Committee and members.
One event led to another, and Chiam was then asked to leave.
However, Chiam held a press conference that deepened the antagonism between him and his Executive Committee, leading the SDP to call for a vote to kick Chiam out.
Did CSJ make any direct efforts to back-stab or play politics with Chiam to usurp Chiam's Chair ?
Or was the fact of the matter being that the events and circumstances of the tumultuous clash between CSJ and Dr Vasoo - resulted in the SDP seeing Chiam for what he truly is, and caused SDP to abandon Chiam in favor of CSJ - as Chiam was already seen to be ineffective in Parliament for more then 10 years ?
This was heavy material grasped by any political opportunists to use to black tar CSJ - who was then the most credible threat from a new generation, one that was equally qualified to be recruited even to the Ruling Party - (and which CSJ had stated that he was courted by his faculty head to join the PAP but declined).
If CSJ is what he is today, it is largely due to the raw political medicine that the Ruling Party had dispensed to deal with CSJ's decision in not accepting the hand that looked after him at NUS.

So ya, I think he should be demoted from childish/immature, to a baby.

LOL, want to make a one liner at least make a proper one lah, your latest one-liner attempt to transfer the mantle of raging bull onto others is unfortunately quite feeble and only served to renforce the image that indeed like your namesake, you have the habit of doing the same ineffective thing over and over again.
who's the one calling himself the Toro here and charging blindly at nothing with his posts?
You see, the problem with one-liners is that they only have effect if they are actually witty and creative, which unfortunately are qualities that your attempts at rebuttal all lack.
Want to talk back at least bother to think of something clever lah, if not you are only pwned yourself again, like you have yet again done in your latest post which unfortunately simply proves your opponent's point and does nothing to help you with getting rid of your toro toro image.![]()
