Actually if you have been following this thread, you can pretty much see that most of us would not opt for him as our ideal opposition member. We are just clearing some of the air, but that doesn't mean we are his supporters.Originally posted by Daddy!!:Originally posted by bigmouthjoe:

agreed. he cleared the air at least for me. unfortunately, it is not enough. as i would say 98% of singaporeans dont know. what else do you think Atobe could have done more?
by the way, I saw Chiam out and Chee taking the leadership, then my sixth sense tells me that Chee is inherently power hungry. I saw Chiam looking down and losing much zeal. If Chiam and Chee were to work amicably together, we might have one more opposition MP (chee) now.
Correct me if i am wrong. Chiam was Chee's Mentor and Chiam brought Chee into SDP. If Chee is a good man, shouldn't he join Chiam when Chiam left SDP? Instead, he stayed with the group of people who opposed Chiam and took over leadership (Chiam's) position. That is, in my opinion, a betrayer's attitude. Now he brought in EU MPs to Singapore (whether it is politically beneficial to singapore or not), has the pattern of a betrayer's action.

LOL, short form is only valid when it's context is shared by the majority.
well, one more is better than one less.Originally posted by Daddy!!:Originally posted by bigmouthjoe:

You hate the oppressive and corrupt Ming emperor: will you collaborate with the Manchus, betray your country and let the gates down for the Manchu soldiers in?Originally posted by soul_rage:well, one more is better than one less.
Hmmm...Originally posted by Daddy!!:You hate the Ming emperor: will you collaborate with the Manchus, betray your country and let the gates down for the Manchu soldiers in?
My next question is : Is Atobe supporting Chee who exhibits a power hungry character, failed/betrayed his mentor and behaves like a traitor to his own country ?Originally posted by bigmouthjoe:Actually if you have been following this thread, you can pretty much see that most of us would not opt for him as our ideal opposition member. It's just like me sharing what I know about Christ, but that doesn't mean that I am a christian. I could have picked up my knowledge from other sources.
don't know what you are getting at. Your analogy doesn't seem apt.Originally posted by Daddy!!:You hate the oppressive and corrupt Ming emperor: will you collaborate with the Manchus, betray your country and let the gates down for the Manchu soldiers in?
You are fast to jumping to conclusions.Originally posted by Daddy!!:My next question is : Is Atobe supporting Chee who exhibits a power hungry character, failed/betrayed his mentor and behaves like a traitor to his own country ?
Low looked into the eyes of Chiam and say "i have Sylvia Lim". Chiam at best can only say "I USED to have Chee". What a sad story.
Have you spoken to FTs and then make your analysis?Originally posted by maurizio13:Hmmm...
So now opposition (Singaporean) is portrayed as Manchus (conquerors from other lands)??
I guess we don't need opposition to do that, the PAP government is already doing that by lowering down the drawbridge and letting all the FTs come into Singapore en masse.![]()

I thought you are someone who advocates "see things with your hearts" ?Originally posted by soul_rage:You are fast to jumping to conclusions.
Whether CSJ is a traitor to his own country is debatable to me. He has not committed treason etc, that potentially can cause the downfall of this country.
Whether he indeed betrayed/failed his mentor, is also debatable, since our media is quick to report (in a certain light) any fire that comes from the opposition camp.

You mis-interpreted me. I was writing to Soul_Rage who said to have one more opposition like Chee is better than having one less. My question is Chee is behaving like someone who lets down the gates etc.

or is that how the papers portrayed it to be?Originally posted by Daddy!!:I thought you are someone who advocates "see things with your hearts" ?
can't you see with your heart that Chee betrayed Chiam ?
I saw Chiam's facial expression. I hardly read newspaper. Where is your heart?Originally posted by soul_rage:or is that how the papers portrayed it to be?
One thing is for sure, you are definitely the one who "see things with your eyes ONLY"
Anyway, whether he betrayed Chiam or not should not be concluded hastily thru biased reports from the newspapers. If you are SOOO interested, you should do your own research into the issue
neither did I say I support himOriginally posted by Daddy!!:Soul_rage, i am not against having a credible and reliable opposition. but Chee is highly questionable. Lets not be desperate to support any opposition.
again you are seeing only with your eyesOriginally posted by Daddy!!:I saw Chiam's facial expression. I hardly read newspaper. Where is your heart?
Clearing the air and support is two different issues. I hope that we do not lump them together.Originally posted by Daddy!!:My next question is : Is Atobe supporting Chee who exhibits a power hungry character, failed/betrayed his mentor and behaves like a traitor to his own country ?

of coz I won't be happyOriginally posted by Daddy!!:Are you happy to be thrown out by your own party which you built up and then your position replaced by a man you helped to succeed in politics?
