Last time whenever i said the Singapore national pledge, my mind was quite innocent and so my mind was like this...
We, the citizens of Singapore
pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a democratic society,
based on justice and equality,
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
progress for our nation.
But after afew years of mature thinking, now my mind was thinking like this...
We, the citizens of PAP
pledge ourselves as one PAP people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a PAP society,
based on justice and equality,
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
progress for our PAP.

Actually the National Pledge was written by Sinnathamby Rajaratnam in 1966 shortly after Singapore's independence. Mr Rajaratnam revealed that the dream was to build "a Singapore we are proud of". He believed that language, race and religion were divisive factors, but the Pledge emphasises that these differences can be overcome if '
Singaporeans cared enough about their country. '
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore_National_PledgeBut never did Mr Rajaratnam lived to this day to see..., it is not that Singaporeans did not cared enough about their own country, but Singaporeans are not given the freedom to choose their own leaders, to voice out their own opinion without been label as a opposition members, or worst been label as a traitor of Singapore. So, whoses at fault now?We or the '
government' of Singapore?
