Last we knew (refer to the GST 7% thread), he claimed he is a $10million dollar businessman, but has totally no idea of any news or facts, and is totally ignorant of what is going on in Singapore

If we give welfare, we become a 100% welfare state
If we don't have PAP, we will all become maids and labourers
If we speak up against FT, we are against ALL FTs
If we don't vote for PAP, we will get Dud ministers (in mathematics, it means all politicans who are NOT PAP are duds, including present and future non-PAP politicians).
If we get 1 or 2 dud ministers, the entire reserves will be wiped up.
I find it really frustrating, during a debate with one of my friends last night on the Govt. When I said we should have more welfare, resulted in him saying I am talking about welfare state.
All the thoughts that we are bred to have are pure black and white. (If you don't want black, means you want white, and vice versa).
Its pretty frustrating at times to see how easy we fall into the trap of extreme thoughts resulting in fear of an alternative (but I am indeed relieved that my friend realized his extreme thoughts when I pointed out to him) -

We shld welcome FTs. Even those with only skills that are aplenty here can bring costs down. This will force singaporeans to be more compettive and move up the ladder. Overall, its good for singapore.
Like I said, you gotta look at the big picture my fren. We are living ina global economy and we cannot be insulated from global competition so wake up. -

They forgot that countries like australia, UK and USA all gives priorities to foreigners with professions that are needed like nursing to enter their countries.
They forgot that usually it is the MNCs who decide if they employ foreigners or locals.
They forgot that the majority of the foreign workers employed by local companies are construction workers or garbage collecters whose jobs local don't need to do.
I will say hypocrite are those who complain about FTs in Singapore but go overseas and take up a job that the locals are capable of doing. This applies to everybody and everywhere.
Having said that, we can't identify the hypocrite cause we don't know enough about them, it will be up to the hypocrite to identify themselves. So all you out there, if you are working overseas, and yet complaining about FTs in Singapore, if you have actually replaced a local who is capable of doing your job, knowingly or accidentally, then you are a hypocrite, you know OK liao, we don't have to tell you. -

any opposition is not tolerated, any disent is always squashed. eg, JBJ, Francis Seow, Chee Soon Juan, Chia Thye Poh, and the list goes on.
That being said, in my opinion, it is not a matter of cowardice, it is just that the ruling party has instilled such a fear in the populace through intimidation that now one would want to risk his lifelihood and the prospect of being sued to kingdom come to say what he/she feels. -
