Sure, if their parents can take public money to spend like it belongs to their grandfather, these people might come back and see if they too can do it with the help of their parents.
Anyone else that has to work for their money is not so idiotic.
If you are talking about income tax, I am sure most developed countries are alot higher than Singapore. If you talking about road tax, COE and ERP, I am sure Singapore transport systems are alot better than other developed countries. If you are talking about GST, I am sure most developed country charge more than 7%. -

Majority don't come back because they don't like and don't accept the way Singapore is run by the gahmen. They prefer the lifestyle over there, cost of livining is not so high as Singapore. More opportunities there for them. I would think that overseas culture, weather and job opportunities are the biggest pull factors for young talented Singaporeans. The only thing Singapore government can do is the create more opportunities for these people to consider coming back and that is exactly what the government is doing. -

As we compete for global talent, nothing more secure to retain our very own local talents, cos our roots are here..FT can always go away (tat's y govt very eager to make FT citzen so they wont run away)..
but one thing the govt can never compete w overseas...we're to small in land n over populated..tat will stop overseas singaporean frm coming back..
