Their number of their winning votes have been declining since early 2000. Can't really catch their Taiwan Hokkien but I'm a bit curious about the title of the show "Da Hua Xin Wen", didn't watch this program before but is it a proper news kind of news or is it like entertainment style news like Quan Min Da Men Guo?

all they do is to their advantage, they are not interested to serve the people with their hearts and souls. They are more like business than politicians serving the people wholeheartedly. Hope the foreigners will continue to dig their dirt and publish it in their countries and beyond. Want the whole world to know how "good" they are. Highest paid ministers in the whole!! -
Just did some homework on this program and would like to share some of the things that comes up to me.
The program is produced by SET TV (San Li). This particular TV is reputed for its hardline stand and lob sided views. In 2007, the Taiwan govt sub contracted SET TV to produce a program on 228 incident; the station used a photograph to protray some KMT personel killing Taiwan citizen. The photograph was subsequently proved to be a misused as the photograph was actually showing KMT people executing a communist during the civil war era and not executing a Taiwanese as reported. The incident escalate to a political issue and both parties made a big hoo haa which ended up causing the KMT succeessfully pressuring the govt to terminate the contract without paying SET TV a single cent.
In May the same year, a KMT legislator successfully uncovered SET misusing properties and Taipei city executive (Which Ma was incidentally the Mayor) underwent further investigation to prove that SET had illegally used 2300 tsubo of land.
There is therefore grounds to believe that KMT is not going to be the Station's favorite party. And it's hardline stand against those who stand before it was so infamous that even DPP legislator Hong Qi Chang was noted to have said that the station leaning towards Facism, there is almost no room for discussion and it's difficult to find another station as bias as it is in the world.
So good people, interesting as the clips may be, please take their views with a pinch of salt, they may not necessary represent Taiwan's general population's view and the motive of the program was not against Singapore, it was aiming at Ma. -
Only concentrate on the part they talked about Singapore as the rest are of no relevance. i think this is very educational. it may not represent the general view of taiwan but people should know the many voices of other people that we are not told of by our media. and some of them can be critical.

They joked about SingaporeÂ’s election system. Ruling party already knew it won more than half the parliamentary seats just after registration of candidates, before the elections was held.
Ma has said that Singapore is not democratic but is corruption free, efficient, professionally governed!?
Singaporeans have essentially gave up happiness(liberty) for efficiency(security).
Taiwanese initially do not disclaim that Singapore has an almost corruption free government.
But now SingaporeÂ’s PM is also FM; PMÂ’s wife controls Temasek ; Father is MM; PMÂ’s brother LHY is currently a director in Islamic bank of Asia.
Taiwan has never had a family that control the stateÂ’s wealth like the Lee family in Singapore does.
Singapore has no transparency in the management of the stateÂ’s wealth.
TW is now suspicious of SingaporeÂ’s method of government. Is the government really corruption free?
TW wants an an open society, to pursue economic progress and fight corruption. Integrity, credibility and efficiency are important to TW but these must not be achieved at the expense of democracy..
The Taiwanese also do not wish to take a regressive step back to Jiang JinquoÂ’s KMT single party rule, where unfair laws or practices prevent the opposition from legally getting power. -

Whether the present gahmen is corruption free or not, the gahmen know themselves. Any Singaporean who volunteer to check on them on this sensitive issue will definitely get it from them. All I ask for is - there are enough Lees involved in the politics and government business, don't wish there will be any more from the same family holding the same high positions, please be fair to give other singaporeans a chance!!! If not, others will say it is nepotism!! REmember Singapore belongs to all of us, Singapore does not belong to only one group of people! -

Taiwan will do what they can to differentiate themselves from China. And having been a sucker for americans fire arms for so many years I am not surprise that Taiwan will have to adopt American style democracy plus a little too much of hollywood, such as fake gun shot wounds to make Chen look like JFK, and WWF in the parliment house.
Not saying taiwan is bad or Singapore is good, but I think their politician there are just like actors and actresses in taiwan movie. Full of drama. -
These are the exact characteristics of advanced democracies, colourful characters, full of drama and scandals.
Singapore has yet to mature to that level yet.
We have to admit, Taiwan is much more advance than us in that respect. -
