Hospital Ward Charges: SG "Public" Subsidised Vs HK Private

Interesting to note that despite Singapore government's subsidies to the "restructured government hospitals", their rooms charges are still alot more than "Private" Hospitals in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong "Private" Hospital: SGD 87.72 - SGD 107.21 (HKD 450 - HKD 550 per day) [SGD 1.00 = HKD 5.13]
3 bedded room with: electric bed, colour tv, shower, toilet and telephone

Don't you think there is something wrong with the way things are run in
Singapore?
Singapore would fail more miserably if I bring in Hong Kong's Public Hospitals for comparison. -
Doctors said don't complain for our local gahmen already subsidised heavily for the patients. Got to know this when I was working project with them. So to them public must shut up and not complain.

HK public hospital is like the rest of the world lah.. it' cheap cheap. but the queue is long long lor.. u usually have to queue for mths for an appointment..... haha.... but... like i always said... there's a choice and at leat their government is honest about it.... public is really public lor.. not like sg..

Subsidised yet we pay SGD 53.29 more than our better private hospitalised Hong Kong counterparts. -

Depending on the specialist you are seeing, you could be queuing for 1-3 months.
