1) While it is understandable that mods would want to tidy up the forum, it must also be acknowledged that topics on the main page do catch the attention of forumites better than it be hidden in the umpteenth page of another thread.
2) It is sometimes appalling to see a mod come in and close a topic at will when he or she has probably little inkling as to what is transpiring among these threads.
"Proof hereby that Cheng San election is rigged?" and "We want fair elections" may fall broadly into the same category but banishing the former into the latter is as good as restricting its exposure to as many as possible.
I certainly hope this feedback of mine does not fall on deaf ears.
