What does our flag mean to you?

The flag just means Singapore, and that I'm from Little Red Dot. Whether or not the design of the flag changes, I will still carry this flag everywhere I go. This flag only serves to remind me the ideas that we had when the flag was designed, but failed to achieve some and thus work forward to it.

There was a renowned case - obviously not reported by this regime's propaganda mouthpiece ranked 154th in the world for press freedom - where this regime tried persecuting someone who posted something derogatory on a newsgroup hosted by a Finnish portal. Needless to say, this regime did not have any basis to get the Finns to turn over the identity of the chap who posted the anti-fascist stuff. Then again, when legislature fails, they probably tried bribery too - and realised how woefully inadequate they were that they came up short against a country that's recognised as being less corrupt than this regime... -
Finland is part of EU, which have privacy laws as far as I know. That alone is enough to stop the government in their tracks. Therefore, they couldn't get the Finns to do anything. Not exactly, you still have to see laws and T&C of the website hoster. If businesses have precedence over laws, the government will have rights to obtain all or some info or even work with local police and trace. The bloggers that are charged, have their blogs hosted overseas, but companies rules first, laws second, therefore the government could successfully charge the racist bloggers. -
Well not rascist but I would say that they would get you for the smallest thing...espcially it its targeted towards them...so like we have all discussed....we should all migrated to Finland

I been reading the above postings...
Personally, I think Finnish or not, and differences of Laws aside,...
if the government WANTS to get people responsible for such a thing as Defacing the National Flag... I think they're likely to get what they want...
I mean consider this; what if, the flasgs defaced were of other countries, or even perhaps of Finland?
I mean, hey America is one heck of a Liberal Country... why aren't many people posting up Re-designed Flags of America?
Sure I mean there are disfigured flags all over the Net here and there...
but do we truly know how many were caught for their handy work?
I feel that we can all have our Negative Opinions and or Sentiments about SG's government, but please draw a line somewhere....
Before somebody or someone, gets "hurt"....
we are afterall talking about a very egotistic government....
