War is not impossible but illogical. By 'war' I mean that kind of 'invading' kind of war. We don't want to start a war simply bcos it is not necessary. Singapore is so small, we really don't have to capability to 'invade', we can only defence.
To Quistis and those who think politics is not our business, you're wrong. Why else do we vote? Why not leave everything for the authority to decide if we were to care nothing else but to study and work? And why else do ppl study political science? I think you are not clear on our defence posture. You are right that Singapore is small, therefore we lack strategic depth, that is why the "strategy" has always been "attack to defend", and thus, the SAF is perfectly capable of launching an attack into enemy territory and bring the fight to THEIR land. No lah some cowards reading some miltary magazines think that war with Malaysia can be won easily so thats why war is not impossible for them. Also the same geniuses who think that Sg economic prosperity is based on Sg's "strong" miltary.

well, seems to me that the author of that harimau article was deliberately trying to be inflammatory... but perception is as significant as reality. if enough malays read it and believe that they are being oppressed, it can become quite troublesome.

Anyway which war don't result in economic and human causlties
Even the strongest economic will suffer the impact of a conflict.
If one day singapore decided to engage a war with malaysia not only will i back SG govt mentally but engage in the conflict.
What i know , many professional and common singaporean folks have been petty pissed off with malaysia MR COPYCAT attitude they are trying to spit our rice bowl into 1/2.
I m not a war maniac but when comes to malaysia i m all out supporting -
Back to the topic itself... the whole idea is really quite senseless since Singapore's policy has always been to deter and its well known worldwide.
Therefore what could be the case is the other way round and that is also unlikely since Bush and the UN will come in and blah blah blah... ...
However if Dr. M suddenly suffers from a case of the nuts, what i believe is that our SAF more than capable in doing his job.
