China or our System more open to corruptions?

China leaders are more stern with their fight on corruptions. Even if some of their officials may be corrupted they do not run a system with their higher ranking officials like ministers or their wives saying they are talents and should write their own cheques to get some lottery prizes because of their power to approve what they like.

2001: Mayor of Shenyang and his deputy sentenced to death for land deals
2007: Former head of the state food and drug agency sentenced to death for taking bribes

At least their ministers and senior leaders and their wives do not openly and publicly promote themselves by saying their officials were paid peanuts and deserving to be paid more.
At least they do not protect the corrupted among them by legally trying to get high salaries or high bonuses or other self-glorifications or self-rewards by power because they have the legal power to be corrupted without facing investigation and prosecution.
So our system is more corrupted compared with China and many other countries and our leaders still do not know it is happening right now under their nose. -
Unless, there's someone INTERNALLY digging out such corrupt practices within to be exposed, it will be like scratching at a bank's two feet thick steel vault door... -
and possibly why china is going places....a little too fast though....it's a new horizon for them....and when a woman makes her billions in cardboard recycling, you know this is the new america.....but it's not for the faint-hearted....

What a silly question!
It is not the country or system, it is the people. People are the same everywhere. Human nature is about SELF. Therefore, enriching oneself by illegal, dishonest ways including favoritism, nepotism, abuse of authority happened all over the world. The only difference is the degree, extent and prevalence.
Even so-called 'religious' nations are not spared. In fact, the most corrupted countries are the 'religious' one - Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia. As for China, it has a long history of corruption by high officials since the time of the First Emperor.
Singapore is also not without corruption. It is the 'least' corrupted - not uncorrupted! -

It depends. Sg has a more transparent agency to deal with inter-agency checks. While china is so vast that to weed out the corrupt , is to use the heavy-handed tactic. Central and other department is so stretched out that some measure of heavy control n fear is to be instilled.
I think SG n China different.. i think Malaysia more open to corruptions.
At least china is sentencing them to death while MY diam diam no sound obviously condoning to such practices while the people get shafted -

For all of China's social ills (from their human rights record to dire press freedom), at least give credit to them for having more respectable labour rights and social security in place than this regime - and we're talking about the most populous nation on earth whose leaders do not command multimillion dollar wages.
At the very least, their honesty should be lauded - they don't claim to be democratic for a start...
