I bet ya, if they increase GST to 20% tomorrow, they will all say it's good because it will help the poor, helps Singapore to get more investments, it's fair, the government is always right.

GST should never have been a cost increase at all because whatever GST the company pays, it can recover from IRAS.
These are all lame excuses for the ultimate shareholder (Temasek) in these companies to exploit the life savings of ordinary Singaporeans. -

Another thread, follow by some more 'pointless + useless' debate.
Lets face it...... we can Cry father Cry Mother till the cow, goat and (China) chicken comes home. In the end, we all know that the fare will still go up. We could sit infornt of our PC and insult each other till we are blue..... calling each other MIW or anti-Govt...... still the Fare will increase.
Word of advice..... accept this fact of yearly price increase.... or move out to your 'Land of Dreams' in some other countries. After all is said and done here. Nothing will change...... the same ppl who suggest we should do something will never be brave enough to lead the way..... those who say nothing is wrong will also not get a discount while taking bus or mrt.....

I really don't mind the increase as long as they can provide trains with 3minutes interval and buses with 5 minutes interval during peak hour.
If they cannot provide that then we can get a 150% refund on our fare for that trip. That is fair for both the users and operators RIGHT ?? -

Government owns Temasek, Temasek owns SMRT.
If SMRT makes money, money goes to Temasek from there it goes to the government.
If SMRT gets fine, the money goes to government also.

It's like playing coin toss, whichever sides the coin is on, they win.
I think if they did not adhere to service standards, they should compensate commuters by giving them double the percentage of the increase.
