Follows by, Countries like korea and Taiwan, who faces more immediate danger compare to singapore , onli have 0.5-1 yr NS training, we are not Israel (SG Army is built upon Israeli's fundamentals)!We are a peaceful little island.
Lastly, the pay is realli too low, even if you work as Maid (+ levy), your pay is higher and the skills inside is more n more un realistics. There is one stupid law, which stated that people with higher than O level certificate have to serve 0.5yrs than the O levels - wah is this ? Keeping talents in camp , hoping to get them to sign on wif the army, DREAM ON ! Peaceful my ass. Not being in a state of war, doesn't mean we are at peace and happy with everyone and everyone is happy with us. We do have some regional "friends" who have threatened to cut our water supply, stop supplying food, and even threatened a military stance. They have refused military flights over their airspace totally and have caused the death of a British Naval Aviator. To think that we are not the Israel of South East Asia and that we will permanently be friends with others is foolish. Why do people need such high pay while serving NS for? You are technically in school, learning military skills, physical training, food is provided, shelter is provided. YOu only go out on weekends, are u saying that find that an allowance of $50 for 1 day too little? And honestly, I don't think that having O'levels means you are talented. These 302s are meant for clearing mines for us. So it makes them valuable to SAF.
Let the faggots do the initial mines clearing. (for example: line up 10 of them and crawl through a minefield. If any of them survived, make them crawl through a few more times. It should make a track wide enough for 3-tonnes to past through.) Our valuable pioneer units will then be send to do a safer and easier job.

Simple, Make females liable for 1 year national service at least. Same 3 mths BMT. After they ORD, they will be transferred to the PDF's infantry units, signals, or watever less demanding role. Those that want more demanding roles can be made @ special request.

and strangely, i enjoy my army... although training is like damn tough and siong and sometimes stupid(to me las)...
but those only physical torture... if like that cannot take oso... might as well go sex change n be gu-niang ;P
