Man fined $1,500 for making lewd remarks to dentist
A MAN, on his first visit to a polyclinic, made lewd remarks and obscene noises while the woman dentist was treating him.
She ignored him but later made a police report.
On Wednesday, odd-job worker Benjamin Lim Chy Meng, 38, pleaded guilty to insulting the modesty of the 28-year-old dentist.
He was fined $1,500.
Lim had gone to the polyclinic on July 10 last year at about 11.35am. While the dentist was scaling his teeth, he started to make obscene noises, saying it was orgasmic.
A nurse was present in the room.
Lim subsequently used both his hands to caress his chest while moaning and groaning loudly.
All this while, the dentist continued to ignore him.
After the scaling had been done, the dentist started to polish Lim's teeth. This time, he remained silent until the end of the procedure.
That evening, the dentist made a police report.
Pleading for leniency, his lawyer told the court that this was Lim's first visit to the polyclinic, and that it was unfortunate that the incident happened.
Lim, who has two unrelated convictions, could have been jailed for up to one year or fined up to $2,000 or both.
He had been fined for drink driving in 1996 and jailed four weeks in 1997 for using criminal force to deter a public servant.
Wah liao, if I were the dentist I would pull out all his teeth... without pain-killer...
