I am not sure on how the majority of these coming to be PRs feels that they are really indebted to Singapore and hence, willing to place their future here. From what i heard from my friends whose parents have came here to work, they were mainly from Australia and some other western countries. They mention that they do not intend to spend the rest of their lives in this little country and it was only the benefits that drew their parents here. If that is the case, how we are we ever going to draw people willing to work for us rather than cultivating our own people and giving us the benefits instead? -

Well, what u ignored was that all other countries are larger and this means more opportunities, more consumer market , more companies, more of jobs if you are qualified enough.
more people in a tiny little dot compared to current density which is already quite dense, would mean more 'rats' running in the same race.

The Big City somewhere is most likely where you want to go when you 1st migrate to another country. Any Big City in the World will have a larger number of ppl than the whole of S'pore..... U might have more opportunities, but also more competition.
If you move to a small city with less ppl to compete with..... there will also be less opportunities.
Example #2 -
The whole of Indonesia is HUGH..... but most ppl will try to migrate to Java because that is where most of the good paying work will be. Will there not be more competition
If the Village is sooo good..... why would so many ppl risk death and time away from family to earn a living far away from HOME Are there lots of opportunities
The Most IMPORTANT thing to remember is how well you are ready to meet the challenge of migrating and start a new life If you go fully planned and willing to work VERY HARD for your new life..... succes MIGHT be yours.
If you go over with the thinking that your new country will take care of you for free..... then U are truly MISTAKEN.....
