What have you done to help the opposition?

I think Gazelle is missing the big picture here, which is not hard considering he seems to be focused on the small issues with his nose well and truly stuffed up into them.
He does not have to take it from us, but from the government. The very fact that there is a need for a quiet online "counter-insurgency" means that indeed there has been a large grassroots movement that has been causing enough effect to be reason for concern.
A simple look through the web, or even here, one can find out about the second side of the story that isn't told in our media, simple because people are willing to keep the stories alive that some people would rather forget.
Unless Gazelle means that "helping" the opposition means breaking the law, I don't really see what question he really has. It is obvious that the internet and it's members have been a great help to the opposition, and where the playing field is far more level.
He can bay about people paying lip service all he wants, but he seems to forget that people are changed inside first before the critical mass is reached for things to be physically changed. He would be quite blind to miss out the fact that the current generation is become less apathic and unquestioning and that is going to be a serious challange for the powers that and they know it, that's why they are doing something about it.
Unlike Gazelle, our government is at least honest enough to admit that the grassroots are becoming increasingly effective in "helping" the opposition. Gazelle seems to think that nothing is being done, in which case he would be sadly mistaken. -

They have also responded with repeated warnings and threats of lawsuits should bloggers and forumites step out of line, especially with 'distorted' and 'unsubstantiated' information.
As typical humans, we are tacit in our judgement, prefering to support the side which meets our personal requirements.
There is no such thing as an out-and-out supporter. If the ruling party performs a dramatic u-turn tmr on some of their critical policies, they may not get my vote next time round. If the alternatives renege on their promises, they may lose out in the next elections. It all about appealing to the people, who are in the center.
Everyone pays lip service, political ministers above all. They say something, then do something else. That's politics. -

Well, I beg to differ from point of view,sir. As a matter of fact, Gazelle and Mat Toro had done very well in swaying the opinons of the neutrals and many moderate Pro PAP towards the Anti PAP camp. This is part of the reverse psychology play by the hardcore anti pap elements.
By being insensitive and giving unreasonable support to the government new policies instead, he actually helps to reflects the follys and the cons,rather than the pros of the very policies that the Government trying to archieve.
By calling the people names "Sheeps and whinners" is part of the game that he creates an anger and hatred in the people venting towards the Government thus indirectly giving support to the Anti Pap camp.
With dubioous characters of such, a pervert panty sniffer and a pro Taliban supporter. Do you think that the Government really needs such characters to defend their policies ? These are the very thing that are being used to discredit the Governemt.
I believe there are Pro Government agencies watching these people with keen interest here. The very government cyber counter-insurgency agents, i believe are people with intelligent and sensitive thinking unlike thugs like of Gazelle and Mat Toro.
