Sonthi casts vote in Lopburi, declines to rule out coup
Gen Sonthi Boonyaratglin, chairman of the Council for National Security, cast his vote in the national referendum in Lop Buri's Muang district at 9:30 am.
Sonthi said he was happy to see a lot of people come out to exercise their voting right.
When asked whether the military would topple the constitution again in the future, Sonthi said it would depend on future administrations.

Thai junta leader gets military Singapore award
Singapore - The commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Army, General Sonthi Boonyaratglin, received on Friday a prestigious military award from Singapore Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean.
The Meritorious Service Medal was awarded to Sonthi in recognition of his contributions toward enhancing the strong ties between the Singapore and Thai armies, the defence ministry said in a statement.
Sonthi had previously angered Singapore when he suggested that the city-state could be using telecom satellites Thailand had sold Singapore to eavesdrop on private conversations of the Thai military.
He ordered military officials to give up their cell phones in favor of walkie-talkies to prevent any espionage, and suggested the Thai government should take back the four satellites.
Singapore had strongly denied the eavesdropping allegations.

the military co-operation goes back more than 20 years. treat it as a national exchange of gesture between singapore and thailand, rather than an award to sonthi lor.
by the way, thaksin was here in singapore recently also what.
politics in thailand has been military coups all this while for more than 20 years. no big deal.
army steps in whenever they feel like it, based on their loyalty to the king and not to the administration.
someone in this forums mentioned b4 that even china and thailand are better place to live than singapore. how true is it, i wonder ? -
