Hi,
How many directorship is legally allowed in singapore?
unlimited?
10? 20? 50 limit?
I know from a director that his basic salary per month is about 20+ K .
This means around 240K a year.
If a director can be hired as directors of many companies, lets say 6, his basic salary alone from all these directorships is already 120K a month!! or about 1.5 million dollars a year!!!
I am all happy for them since they allowed to legally work as director for as many companies as possible (or is there a limit).
What I am curious to know is how can a person sit on the board of so many companies at the same time? A normal director of 1 company already cannot tahan working as 1 company's director. How is it logically possible for a person to work for 6 - 400 companies as director?
400. Does anyone have any example of such a rare talent?
I think this maybe possible.
400 x 30K (eg. ) a month = 12 millions a MONTH!
and this does not include his / her day job salary. -
It's GIC and Temasek, the more the merrier, because with the way they are running things there, they need all the help they can get.

Does being a director gives you the insider advantage knowing the future directions/plans and current performance of your company that allows you to buy-sell shares with very very super good information ?
If can, and if I am one, without a cent of basic salary, I also can be billionare in less than 1 year.

normally when u sit on the board of a company and want to join other companies too, u gotta declare, especially if there will be a conflict of interest, otherwise its illegal.
ppl on such high posts are frequently made to sign contract whereby if they quit their position in the company they are nt allowed to work in the same field for awhile, sometimes 3yrs or more. -
i tink TS exaggerating when he said 400 companies.....

I know some directors don't get year end bonuses.

Oh thats right, supposedly. And as I put it earlier, Dir A can send message to Dir B (diff company). This is to either buy/sell either by handsignal or body language. If the Directors are smart, and of course they are, then there are countless ways to insider trade and never get caught, technically.
Of course I do not expect the directors to be so s.tupid to send emails, sms, or say it over the phone or face-2-face and spoken in clear.
Country club quite privileged place for sending cryptic messages using handsign, body language, use the golf ball / draw on the sandpit. No clues left behind.
Dir A is not buying/selling his company A shares. Dir B is. vice versa. Like this how is it possible to prevent insider trading?
So, I am totally not sure how insider trading can be stopped.
If got good information, I will borrow from everyone and throw in 100 million into shares and profit! So easy! dun even need any cent of basic salary.

some directors are nominee directors.
nominee directors can have many directorships.
they dun earn that much by being a nominee director. -

I do not think there is any legal limit as to how many directorship a human is allowed. and thus.
