Had Special Branch/ISD detained Lee Kuan Yew when he started his malaysian Malaysia campaign, Singapore would not be kicked out later.
In fact, there were calls from some quaters to have LKY detained, but no one made such a move.......ie....Special Branch was not pro-active, and lacked the will to move against LKY......perhaps they feared a backlash......civil war.......
But the truth was that LKY had nothing to fight with.......even the 2 battalions of 1 SIR and 2 SIR were commanded by Malaysia.....
