And I didn't criticise people for airing their views..... I state that compare to some other Youth in other parts of the World, S'porean Youth is not having it BAD. And then ask those who disagree to show me they could do better by getting elected themselve.
The problem is with Arm Chair critics speaking as if they could solve the problem. They are giving people false hope... thats all. Unless they are willing to stand up and lead....... what will change Show me with action please. We already have enough broken promises from the GOVT.
Everytime I write here, it is to express my Views. In this case, I don't believe that the youth of S'pore is having it BAD..... But ppl here decided to make me a Pro-PAP example..... If they think they could change S'pore, then lead the way. If not...... then after all is said here, tomorr the GST, CPF, who govern.... etc... will still be the same.

He was only airing his disgust and yet you told him he was dumb enough to vote for the PAP based on what he had seen the PAP done IN THE PAST. I am actually quite disgusted by your statement. -

I admitted when I 1st started on this forum that all I want is to live my life. I don't want to get invol on any side. After all those PAP bashing speeches ever said here, did any member here ever done more than just fault finding
I may have only been to Holiday overseas..... but those child beggar in the steets of thailand or indonesia will still be there.

Most have the Lastest Gizmos like H/P or MP3s....
Most doen't have to be hungry anytime in their lives...
Some grown up having a maid to fetch for them. (while the maids themselve are also youth from other countries)
Most if not all will never be shot at by a gun while playing football (the UK thingy)
Most if not all will have a chance of an education with is base on their own capablitily to study.... not on race or class in society.

Seriously, if sharing the alternative views with other users is not considered an action I don't know what is. Like a movie critic, we can choose to heed or ignore his reviews, there is a CHOICE but at least we see and know another person's point of view. It makes us THINK.
I have nothing bad to conclude about the life of Singaporean youths, but the issue I have here is your comment on armchair critics. Are you telling all the movie critics in the world to start campaigning or protesting everytime there is a good/bad movie?
No. Their role is to inform and discuss, it's up to the reader to decide. -

Why do you think his choice is without careful thought? I read his post and it clearly states that he has been to political rallies and heard both sides. Are you telling him that he should get a written by the both sides of the camp and analyse it, coupled with every single report and comments from political analyst and to top it all consult a fortune-teller before casting his vote?

Fallacy number 1 of P4P supporters here.
Everyone that makes their views heard in sgForums wants to be a politician.
These days, the P4P are clamping down on cyber alternative views so much, they have to resort to this argument and their so called golden statement.
"No Action, Talk Only"
In that case, they should change this to sgActions, instead of sgForums, else it is very misleading. Then change Speaker's Corner to Action Corner.
Forum: an assembly, meeting place, television program, etc., for the discussion of questions of public interest.
If one's policies are strong, it will not incur unhappiness amongst the populace. They should not fear discussion, unless the policies are flawed, then they will suppress discussion to prevent more people from knowing it.

Neither am I questioning whether Singaporean youths are GENERALLY having a good life, cause most of our youths are having it good BUT it's wrong if we start comparing to non-privileged youths in third-world and developing nations like some of us are starting to do.

Youths all over the world work hard so that they can travel and save up for a good life (or save up so that they have money to pursue their dreams) but in Singapore, they have barely enough to pay for the necessities in life because the necessities in life like housing, transport and medical are priced so high they have no choice but to work hard for necessities in life into their (now they are planning for Singaporeans to work into their eighties) old age.
In order to do that, make the youths work into their eighties, they make sure that prices go up more and more but salaries lag behind (using foreign talents to lower the wages).
Pity the Singapore youths. -
