i think quite many people in internet has been too convinced that govt is some hypocritcal thing.
And these people, have been coming up with untrue and unfair examples to prove their case. -

If you can find example where PAP organise at east coast park to promote its political party at the same situation as WP current application while yet rejects WP in this case, then it is a valid case to ask why there is double standards.
Stop using other examples that are not the same context as this WP cycling event.

please come up with strong case of example where double standard exist.
like WP organise this thing get rejected in east coast.
PAP oragnise this thing is approved in east coast.
moreover, the report already says that WP can hold in indoor places.
therefore, what is the problem? ask WP to hold chess competition in indoor lah. -

Okay, now ask the WP to create a same activity at same place or similar type of place as this Young PAP event. then if police does not allow them to hold it without giving good reason when both situations are the same, then it is double standards. -

dun say i blatantly support PAP. i putting some activites info from YP website and i putting some activities that MAYBE do represent evidences of double standards.
i am cautious in making conclusions and hasty judgment cos perhaps the context is different between WP thing and YP thingy. MAybe there is difference we do not know.
i pick activities that is outdoor. Also, is YP considered a political party? i know it is within PAP?
Night cycling - this is different from day cycling at east coast where there are many people. so this maybe not same issue.
kayaking - possible similar comparision. people may starting fighting with paddles.
BBQ - possible. people may start fighting with skewers.
While there seems to be possible double standards, unlike most people, i shall withhold my judgment and hopefully, PAP can explain if these are indeed different situations.

I dont understand why apply permit in the first place.....
Just go and cycle together, shouldn't be a problem right?
If you go out and cycle with a group of friends, do u first go to police station to apply for a permit?
So why cant the WP just organize internally and then just go out and cycle?
Unless if there are too many people and they need to block the road partially or divert road traffic...like those big cycling competition...u know..then of course need the police assistance, and need to ask permit...
If not like that...then just go out cycle loh....too formal to apply for a permit...

i think PAP should address this double standard issue or they would gradually lose moral authority among the young. It tries to potray itself as full of integrity yet it constantly abuses its power and authority to its advantage.

So what if PAP managed to get a go ahead to organize a cycling event in west coast park instead of east coast park? Maybe you will said its because the location is different next?
The question here is why the police classify an outdoor cycling event as "have the potential for public disorder and mischief, and may disrupt community life." ? Aren't there countless cycling events held successful in Singapore before? And I don't see how indoor and outdoor activities will make a different? Maybe you can enlighten me on this point?

The reasons for rejection is idiotic and can only be construed to show party politics in action. -
I think this is rather unfair for the opposition party as they have got no chance to even prove themselves even if they are going to do something silly like protesting on that day while cycling i believe Ms Sylvia Lim will have more things to do rather than to protest!
I guess the govt should be more flexible in such matters! Well its for the people to decide in the next GE who they should support. I believe the opposition should have some sort of powers to prove their worth given such minimal powers how can they even prove themselves worthy? -
