Even if WP does organize a similar event at the same time, it will be rejected because the venue is taken up by YPAP then we'll be seeing you jumping in to defend the rejection because the venue is different... sigh... -

But so too does the WP, I think.
Singapore is supposed to be based on justice and equality.
All that said comes to nothing if the People does not ensure it is so.
What I mean is , WP should keep trying as you suggested.
For each event application, lets see if HPK want to respond again and again.
Technically, I believe WP has all the rights to apply for events. They are not committing any mischief. WP is an organization about the People afterall. Obviously for it to operate, it must be allowed to interact and reach out to help the community bond and build better synergy. This kind of people bonding can only be good for society.
Thus, it should be encouraged. Singapore belongs to all citizens. Not 1 party. correct or not?
All of us pay tax. correct or not?
So, I hope to join WP in their up coming mass activity. Whatever it may be. Indoor or Outdoor. The most important thing is to achieve an approval in any activity. Else, there is not future for WP since they cannot get approval to organise anything. I am confident WP has the gift of the gap to convince the authorities to approve at least 1 event. Keep on trying! Rome was not built in 1 day! The People are watching over you.

Police have to reject lah... they short of manpower to observe these peaceful gatherings because they need all the manpower they can muster to catch ladies of the night at Geylang.

Like for mass activity?
If no activity is allowed, I am sure Lau would not have asked for the activity.
So, what activity can be allowed?
Can WP use some of the money to finance its acitivities for the people?

It is kind of weird,
During election, the government said the opposition are not up to the standard.
Now the WP is holding cycling event to reach out to the masses, which is one of the important point to gain people's support and portray itself at its top form.
Now the PAP is rejecting event.
Mr Chan Soo Sen, Joo Chiat MP and his team of members will cycle around the SMC to visit the citizens and others.(Featured on the news a few years ago) Don't know whether this event still continue for now??? If they are allowed to cycle why not WP? -
