Lots of people do it. Hawkers do. Chefs do. Artists do. Singers do. Damn, even politicians (some) do. Do what? They let others judge their work. No chef worth his salt will praise his own food; he lets an esteemed food critic do that. No artist praises his own scultpre; he lets a renowned art critic do that. But not SingaporeÂ’s PeoplesÂ’ Action Party.
As reported in
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/296334/1/.html Senior Minister Goh CT said “In my view, the PM (LHL)
was being very brave in tackling the issues raised during the National Day Rally. These issues of ageing, the deferment of the draw down age of CPF from 62 to 65, are very sensitive and unpopular issues.
Very few prime ministers in the world would address issues that are way beyond (their) political (lives) because it doesnÂ’t benefit (them) in any way. But this is not the way Singapore operates. It is not the way which Lee Kuan Yew operated,
not the way which I operated, and very happily it is not the way which Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong operates.”
As you can see, itÂ’s not just one sychophantic colleague praising another, but SM Goh also praises himself. Sometimes, itÂ’s possible to be so full-of-it that you canÂ’t see the s h i t stuck to your body, isnÂ’t it?
Singapore needs a change, but who doesn't know that?
