Heavy Rains Cause Flooding In Singapore

Singapore (AHN) - Heavy rains on Tuesday caused massive flooding in key areas in the city-state of Singapore. Flood waters also caused heavy traffic jams throughout the city.
Non-stop rain showers were recorded early morning Tuesday. Thousands of Singaporean workers and students were stranded because of the rising waters and some decided not to go out of their houses anymore.
In the Commonwealth MRT station, traffic was bumper-to-bumper with some vehicles reported to have been caught in flood waters. -

I think this current system of awarding lots of money to leaders can be good for the future rulers.
It can act as carrot for future political parties to challenge the incumbents.

I do not however, support the way WP is denied to ride the bicycle. What is there to be afraid of ? bicycle?
If WP should break a law, arrest them.
But they never even start doing anything yet.
What destructive things would WP they do? Is it such a illogical , irrational party having existed for half a CENTURY? having great leaders like Low and Sylvia? Are singaporeans Rioters? irrational and unreasonable uneducated uncivilised people? We are kiasi come on! What could kiasi people do? come on! I want to cycle with my idol too!
Singapore must show it can be more inclusive and willing to listen to the people and that includes the WP who I think is part of the government of singapore since she has representatives in Parliament serving the People.

I call for RESPECT for freedom to cycle ! -

Singapore is super tiny dot of land. With so little land to manage, and all developed, the flooding should have been solved long ago. There should not be flooding at all for such a small piece of land. If this were china, I can understand. But this is tiny dot. Our highest paid leaders must solve this asap. Else, I find it unreasonable or they need to improve.

we, humans are naturally blinded by greed of money. if we carry on this way, we'll only trap the future leaders and guide them in looking for more money for themselves.
what we need now are people who are passionate about serving and working for the citizens and not for the multi million dollar pay check. the paycheck should be secondary. -
knowing that the passion fades and the greed come in sooner or later... they should have limited time in office and not become SM, MM and WMDs...

adding on, the area commonwealth just undergone a major construction of the underpass. shouldn't they have taken flooding into consideration and implemented better drainage system? -

indeed i think their pay is overrated, but what can i do about it besides whining and complaining. just accept it lor. i think LKY deserves our respect, so even if they wanna keep him in office even after his duties is acceptable. Afterall we are where we are because of him. There is no IF in this real world.

The opposition parties in Singapore face an uphill task as they are being treated unequally in many situations. So it's not possible to join politic to promote your own cause. Either join the ruling party to be MIW yes man, or join the opposition parties but be bullied by the ruling parties.
Secondly, we are paying the ministers so that they can lead us to build a better future for SG. So I don't care what LKY did in the past, but what he can contribute in the future. If he's able to contribute, then he can stay, otherwise, he should retire and not waste taxpayer money. -
