That is possible, because most (not all) of the suicide cases in Singapore involves Singapore born Singaporeans. And it is also possible that figures reported by other countries could also be diluted with influx of migrants. This article highlighted a rise in suicide rate in the middle age group, which means that this group of people were born in the 1960s, either before or after Singapore independence and grew up in the 70s. Having said that, I also believe that there are also those who committ suicide because of financial problem such as taking loans from loan shark, gambling etc.
To tackle this problem, I think Singapore government and the community need to look into ways to recognise them as part of the builder of Singapore and offer financial aid to those who really deserve them. But I do believe that the most important help to these people will to be the love from their immediate family members. -

Some questions should be posed to the current rulers or ruling party.

There are other countries who's elderly live on welfare. Here, even with CPF, still not enough money for retirement and also no welfare. Why? isn't it mainly due to the HDB raising prices for HDB flats? In an effort to tap the abundant resources of the CPF for investments? Due to lower income tax that some other nations, the government has less revenue from Tax alone, and this needs the CPF to run the nation.
The PAP once said that the raising HDB prices is alright coz the amount in % forked out by a household from their income is still the same.
Instead of the fricking annuity, they should just severely regulate HDB prices, instead of being greedy and looking to make a tidy profit for every HDB sale.
Are people being taught to love? Ask around the middle income groups, those that earn 2-3k a month. Is the 1st and foremost on their minds, to earn more? Not all, but I can safely say, a majority of them. Which in turn contributes to our nation being built on money in the social and cultural sense.
If you have traveled widely to many 1st world nations that are ahead of us, even culturally, you would probably notice a more gracious society.
Where people don't horn when you are slow of the traffic light.
Where no one complains while queuing behind you when you stop to chat with supermarket cashier (when you find out she's singaporean), a guy behind even comes up to say "No worries mate, take your time" with sincere smiles along the queue line. Makes me realize how ungracious we can be, even in the city.

At the Swiss Federal Level the tax may be low at 11% anf for high wage earners the taxable income of SFr100,000 maybe taxed at only 4%.
