The relevance is that u got shit as your brain.Originally posted by Illegal Operation:Singapore's ISD branch works under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Technically, ISD maintains internal security of this country.
WP and SDP are political parties. Where is the relevence?
pathetic.......Originally posted by Illegal Operation:Do you have to hurl abuses at everybody who do not see the point your way?
My question, to put forward simply, is how WP and SDP could also own a department that rivals(or work in conjunction) with the Ministry of home affair to maintain internal security of this country.
where is the point??? he is asking a question, not making a point.....Originally posted by KTE:Eh Illegal Operation has a point there.
You can make a point by asking a question, don''t you know?Originally posted by tripwire:where is the point??? he is asking a question, not making a point.....
I dont mind if u are against my point....
I do mind when that somebody happens to talk like a six year old kid....
perhaps its because i live on earth..... and he live in heaven.... the utopia.....
me???...... i make a living on hell....seen the sinisters of hell.... and learned to live by hell's rule..... which is.....no rules....
how u know that chia thye poh is innocent?? the govt gave him a choice... denounce violence and go free OR stay under ISA and enjoy the free food and housing.... its his choice... no point shouting innocence as if u have no choice.Originally posted by witness:The ISA permits detention without trial. There might have been a time when the ISA was necessary. That time is past. The ISA should be abolished.
The saddest victim of the ISA is Chia Thye Poh who was imprisoned for more than twenty years. His case was never heard in the courts. Imagine going to prison in your early thirties and leaving it in your fifties, and not being charged in court for whatever you did (or didn't do).
Singaporeans must never forget.

oh.... u a pile of bullshit... ISA isnt simply a political tool... for your information. there are quite afew of ISA agents on our side who are currently held under malaysian ISA... what is chia thye poh compare to all these agents of ours who risk their life for the rest of us?Originally posted by witness:I wonder who's being moronic.
If there is clear evidence that Chia has done something wrong, why not charge him in court? If not enough evidence exists to charge him in court, why detain him for more than twenty years? What has happened to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?
The ISA gives the government the right to arrest anyone without trial. In Malaysia, it is currently used to detain those who choose to disagree with the government. It is a law which can too easily be abused. Think about it.

My counter argument is... u are too naive to think that the law is perfect and that all cases can be dealt with one way or the other...Originally posted by witness:Shotgun...ever heard of closed court sessions where the hearing is held in private?
The judiciary is an important arm of a tripartite government. It is there precisely to counter possibilities of abuse such as the ISA.
Tripwire.... stop mouthing obscenities and vague statements about spies and espionage. The ISA is wrong in principle and practically, there seems to be clear instances of abuse in the past. And every individual is important in a society. What rational counter-arguments can you offer?![]()
hitler is just one man.... how can one man take on millions of jews and single handedly sent 6 million jews to their graves??Originally posted by witness:Trip...
I never claimed that the law is perfect. But where it's obvious that it's grossly imperfect, we should try to change it.
Open session or closed, a trial consists of judges, witnesses and lawyers on both sides. Better that than not having your case heard for over two decades.... and then finally released without an apology....nothing.
